Just been to Warehouse Express website looking for a particular lens. They don't have it. Backorder job. No quarrel with that.
Because Park Cameras website shows it in stock I place the order on their website and get email confirmation. 30 mins later they phone to say they don't have it.
What a bleeding pest!!

I've found with the "backorder" bit at warehouse express, if you do the online chat help thing on their homepage, they can tell you when they are expecting stock to arrive. Might not help on this occasion though.......

You're lucky!... Park cameras didnt let me know it was out of stock until I rang them yesterday, three days after the order to ask where my "FREE next day delivery" was.. to be told it was out of stock and wouldnt be back in until after xmas... all very nice as its a XMAS PRESENT!" As it happens I had a little windfall and upgraded the oreder to a canon 7d which I was assured was in stock and would be dispatched immediately for "FREE NEXT DAY DELIVERY" so its today and myy camera has not arrived and they refuse to give me the tracking number.. They let slip the company so I rang them and they tell me that its been sent "48 HOURS"... GRRRR! and their depot is 500 yards from me....

Park Cameras just phoned 5 minutes ago to say they now have the lens in stock and asked if I want it.
I said "Yes" since I was trying to get one before the VAT increase on 1 Jan.
They'll send it tomorrow.
Parks don't give the Tracking Number for some reason, but in the past they have told me who the carrier is and from that I can estimate at what time of day it will appear.

I managed to collect it after work and have spent the last few days fondling it lovingly! ( I mean the camera!)

Bleeding well fizzing now.
Sat in all day waiting DPD deliver my lens. No sign of them.
Phoned Park Cameras a few minutes ago and asked them to check DPD's tracker. The lens is in one of their Glasgow depots now. Tracker message says "unable to deliver on time".
OK, I can accept that the weather made it a slow journey up to Glw. Why, oh why cannot Parks give customers the tracking number like other dealers do
then I could have found out sooner that there is a delay and avoided hanging about the house.

To be fair to the DPD folks did hand it over and spent 15 mins hunting for it in a trailer that had THOUSANDS of parcels in it...
