Guess I need to take ideas a bit further but this is why I took on this project.....to stretch my thinking and make me take more photos.

My thinking exactly with my photos

Hi ya

Holiday season..... different take on the theme which is good....think all's been said before...slightly wider shot , more of the sunglasses in frame :)

Gravity-time space curve by anitacv.1, on Flickr

Decided to try something outside my comfort zone. Inspired by Wikipedia article on Einstein, gravity and time space curve ?!*#!? (please don't ask me to explain as I have no idea what it all means) and by Salvador Dali's Clocks. I have little to no experience of using Photoshop so I apologise for the lack of technical ability but I do know slightly more after spending this week pressing many Photoshop buttons (mainly the undo button!) This may be the reason that my laptop through a wobbly! I know the picture I had in my head but dont have the technical ability to create it lol.

Hi, Anita, I'm a great fan of Salvador so you got a  from me straight away.

I have to say, having technical ability is often the downfall of many people.

I really like it. Nice detail and the lens flair early adds to the heavenly feel of the photograph.

Crit, well, it looks a tad noisey in parts.

Good show

Thanks for comments. I was a bit nervous about posting this. The 'noise' was added via Photoshop after I watched a video about creating a space background so maybe I needed to tone it down a bit. But its all a learning curve :-)

I think you have really done a great job with it I don't have photoshop so can't offer any advice about the PP only that it looks good to me and its different

Hi Anita

oooohhh...likey likey likey...anothe Dali fan here, the guy was a genius .

keep meaning to give this warp effect a try & think you have inspired me

Lovely detail , like the addition of the lens flare & the 2 tiny blobs under the clock look like the frame has melted a bit ...great image

At last i have my computer back and working. Hard drive died on me so a bit late with a couple of my entries.

Wild by anitacv.1, on Flickr

Lesser spotted ramblers gathering at waterhole :)

Space by anitacv.1, on Flickr

Would have liked the cables to be a bit more visible but dont know if that can be done.....more research needed I think!

Hi, Anita and nice catch up.

Wild....hmmmm,,not seeing wild. More sedate.

Space I like. The composition may not be to everyone's liking, with the slither of ground and central positioning of the masts, but it works for me. The cables are there but I'm sure a bit of PP would bring them out more.

Cheers.

Hi Anita, I suspect that "waterhole" is actually a flood isn't it? It's a bit hard to see at that (rather small) size, but I think there are ripples etc on it, and a main stream just this side. So I'm happy to go with wild for that! However, there's something about it which doesn't quite convince me it's level! Not sure what it is, and it may be that the camera was properly level but the water is properly sloping...

I also like space. Yes, it's very central, but there's balance from that little group of trees to the right, and some nice lines of light and shade through the cloudy sky. Yes, it would have been better with more visible cables; it's amazing how things like that don't, isn't it!

I did rather use this 'wild'pic with my tongue stuck firmly in my cheek :)
The waterhole is actually a pool which I suppose now you mention it is flooded.
I'll have to check about it being level.
Thanks for comments....hopefully will help me improve.
i did have other 'wild' photos but wasnt happy with them.
Is there a problem with how I've posted the photo to make it 'small'?

Nice space shot, agree the wires need bringing out more but not sure how id do that myself!

Good idea, I'd have tried it with the Wife but think she'd have given me short shrift! :)

Nice idea for Work and the blur works well. Not keen on the crop, though, I'd like to see a bit more of the room.

Cheers.

Good sense of motion in your work photo there. I do agree the crop is perhaps a bit too tight, though.

Thanks for comments. I can see that a wider crop might have been better...to get the full sweep of the vacuum as it were...lol

That put a smile on my face, very funny. Couldn't have got a better fitting plate for the single cake!

Thanks. The things you have to do for your art. Forced to make chocolate cake just to take a photo of them. What a waste ;)

Hi, Anita, like it. Strangely enough, I've just tried something similar having bought 2 chocolate cakes, but it wasn't workin so I've just eaten half of one cake. Every cloud hs a silver lining :D

Composition works and the colours look fine to me. Not sure about the upper left cloth.

Good show now enjoy the spoils of your project

Cheers.

thanks. Cloth is a napkin. Took photos with and without it and chose to post this one. Cakes are for someone's birthday tomorrow-dont really like chocolate cake myself.
Maybe you could take a shot of your empty wrappers lol. Enjoy!

Hi Ya

had to giggle at "Lesser spotted ramblers gathering at waterhole "....the bg is wild so with a little shoehorning it fits the theme...but appears a little on the squiff ?

Work...like it , great motion blur ...good idea for the theme

Gluttony.....they look totally scrummy....co-op do similar ones & they are just soooo moooreish ...right on theme , good colors , very sharp...making me hungry looking at them

Space...just a smidge dark for me , but perfectly straight & I like the central composition on this shot :-)

Great interpretation for this weeks theme and its making me proper peckish!

I don't know if it would improve things or not, but I would have perhaps put the table cloth under everything...

So many ways of interpreting these themes and even more choices to be made about the actual photo. In the end you have to make a decision and go with it or it could take forever. Its good to have peoples opinions and thoughts to take forward to the next time. That's what is so fascinating about this hobby of photography.

Great image, looks yummy and my oh would say thats how it looks in our house

I like the photo as it is and the cloth doesn't bother me, now can you send some over

Some on the way but they may not look like they do in photo by time postman has shoved them through letterbox !

Hi Anita
i like your gluttony photograph, a fun take on the theme certainly. :D
You have handled the lighting well here, it is evenly lit with lots of detail in the cakes. The napkin doesn't really distract. I understand what you are saying about choosing a photograph to submit, everyone has different ideas but you have to decide in the end or you could be chasing around with different edits and such. Good work  Iain

Liking the gluttony, great colours and textures there, maybe a slightly lower POV would have emphasised the height of the cakes a bit more?? Too late to re-shoot I bet

GREAT idea to do the two plates, that really drives home the gluttony, as "You" are going to eat 90% of the cakes.

Good job!

Thank you. You're right too late for reshoot.......but I could always bake something else!

nice take on the theme and well composed the cloth certainly adds something i dont find it distracting those cakes look nice too
