weekly Anita's 52 in 2014

Yep, great idea Anita, composition, colours, shadow all good to me (y) As mentioned by Allan above, shame about the one or two blown pin heads :)

Nice colourful image and like the shadows too, perhaps a few of the highlights are a little blown out

Another like for this one anita... nice sharp detail in the pins, a great tanglement as they cling to the magnet... not sure the shadow adds to the image though, although others do so don;t worry about that!

Hi, closest thing I get to physics is The Big Bang, so the connection isn't that obvious to me.

That said, i do like it. Not often a fan of shadows but it works for me in this one.

Cheers.

Hi Anita

Like that....sharp , colorful , good use of shadow (y) not quite so sure about the background color though

An unusual and effective take in the theme. Minor crit: would have liked to see a bit more interest in the arrangement of the pins and all of shadow included.

Nice image especially with it coming from the corner. The addition of the shadow works for this one. Colours are also nicely saturated. It reminds me of one of those solar system models.

Good idea. It's quite deceptive as it hight it was quite big but realise it pins :)

Crit, just the uneven BG lighting, although I do like the shadow in the BG.

Cheers.

Hi Anita, nice to see you back
Time, works as well as anything else I have seen
Linked, very unusual probably my pick of the bunch
Steps, the water detail is really good a straight on shot would have worked just as well for me
nature, the grass lower right is a bit intrusive

Wow a lot of photos! Welcome back to the fold. Erm I like Time, it stands out clear and defined. Linked is a bit weird, but fits the theme, where was it taken?
Steps, I like that it's not just steps but has a feature about it and you have captured it nicely. Nature looks a little soft at the top left ish area and I agree about the intrusive grass.

The under the dinosaur shot for linked is great - lovely use of an unusual POV and great sky too. Super composition there as well.

and nature works really well, nice contrast of the green flower with the orangey pebbles. Shadows add interest too.

Great to see you back Anita :)

Loving these, all very nice in their own way, my fav of the four is your 'Time' shot, would work nicely for mono too, although the blue sky doers really help the rest stand out nicely

Also really liking 'Linked' image... thinking it's more like a giraffe and wondering if this is SC or just a horrid sky, loving the angle :)

Again, super catch up

Hi Anita, good catch up, stand out one for me is 'steps', composition, detail, processing, work well (y)

Yayyyyy...welcome back Anita:wave:

Love the catch up

Time.....almost perfect symetry ( roof ridge tiles not 100% either side but thats really nit picking ! )

Steps.....just enough movement in the water & a good angle (y)

Linked..obviously having a blonde moment......can't make the link to the theme  :$ But I do like the angle , most unusual subject matter :D

Nature...dare I say it but a little bit plain in comparison to the other shots :coat:

Just about hanging in

Swirl by anitacv.1, on Flickr

Maybe a bit of a crowbar to squeeze this one in for Swirl

Fresh by anitacv.1, on Flickr

Haven't got tilt screen on this camera to see easily at ground level (unless lying flat out on wet grass) and now realise I should have cleared away some blades of grass.....maybe a reshoot in the making

Twisted by anitacv.1, on Flickr

This is a crop of some chimneys ( sky was awful so wanted to lose it)

Mono by anitacv.1, on Flickr

Wightwick Manor, Wolverhampton

Hi Anita, I quite like the daisy shot the colours are good and very natural
twisted, brickwork looks great well spotted
Mono could do with being a little higher up so the wall is not blocking the house to much
Nice catch up(y)

Just about hanging in
Glad to hear it :)

Swirl - A nice interesting shape, stands out from the background nicely :)

Fresh - Crit covered by your self, shame as I like the really low angle :)

Twisted - Excellent shapes there, sends my eyes all over the place, liking the red poking out here and there, really brings out the detail :)

Mono - I'm with Alan here, the building is a cracker, would love to see much more of that and less of the wall/hedge for a mono shot... great to see the catch up continuing

i quite like the daisy shot too, the daisy is nicely focused and the grass adds a bit more dimension

Really great detail on the chimneys

Hi Anita...nice to see you are still here :)

Swirl is a good choice for the theme and stands out nicely against the muted background.
Fresh ...the blades of grass are a tad distracting but it does look very fresh and natural.
Twisted ...I wasn't sure what that was a first glance, it looks like a coiled snake !! Excellent choice of chimneys for the theme.
Mono...have to agree with the others about the POV on that one.

... really like that fresh daisy pic. (y)

HI Anita

this 52 malarky is wayyyy to much hard work sometimes !

Twisted I absolutely love....really has a 3d look to it , plenty of textures , great colors..... very striking

Swirl.....super sharp , excellent use of DOF.....

Fresh...you've given your own crit , nothing more to add

Mono...conversion is great , contrasty enough, plenty of detail ....bit I really want to straighten it  though I know it's the angle you've shot it at

Time - Good symmetry on this one. The exposure seems to have been well handed as there's good detail in the blacks

Linked - Looks like an interesting sculpture. Good use of put the subject across the diagonal

Steps - I'm not sure about the processing on this one as the water looks a little strange? Not sure why though

Nature - Good clean shot. I'd have prefer a square frame and maybe lose the bottom right grass

Swirl - Hits the theme and probably a good choice of crop otherwise the subject wouldn't have been so prominent

Fresh - At first I thought the grass gets in the way but somehow it has grown on me so I feel it works

Twisted - Nice pattern image. Looks a little noisy. Was it heavily cropped at all?

Mono - The subject certainly suits the mono approach although I feel maybe a touch more contrast may have helped

Hi Anita,
shape...nice shapes in your flower,is it passion flower?
Numbers... Lots of numbers, the image is a bit dark at the top, the very dark bit across the right top corner is a distraction
strong... a good strong box
Texture, plenty texture there, i like your olde worldy look:)

Wow - shape! It's brilliant with stunning colours... if you'd have been able to lose the leaf/frond in the bottom left corner it would be absolutely exceptional (and it's not far off as it is!)

Numbers - really nice take on the concept but what would it have looked like at a slightly lower angle? Not saying better, just curious. I'm struggling to get all the detail from the blacks on the right side of the phone (as we look at it) but that might be my monitor.

Strong - great subject and detail, nice lighting and superb processing. Again, I'd love to be able to see slightly more inside the trunk, but I guess that's the point! Again, nice take on the theme.

Texture - really nice subject but something isn't working for me here and not sure what. Don't get me wrong, it's a better photo than I would take but it just looks fake. Maybe just not a fan of the processing?? Sorry! Top right looks slightly blown as well, for me.

But still a great quad of pictures, first three especially! Well done.

Shape is brilliant

Numbers - nice shot and a different take

Strong - Great old trunk, just a pity about the light area at the back left, it would have been so much better with the trunk moved to the right to keep the nice wooden background.

Texture - Certainly a nice mix there.

Hi Anita,
Shape very good interesting flower great colour and a unusual point of view
the last three all have a similar feel to them taken in the same place maybe, all of them are interesting items
four very good pics(y)

Hi Anita

another good set of images to get you upto date

Shape....passion flower's have the most fascinating shape & color....well taken , well exposed (y) Can't help thinking it needs a smidge cw rotation just to square it up ?

Numbers......again , seems to need a slight cw rotation but love the clarity & the bg - suits the old fashioned phone

Textures....could you not have found a few more textures to get in there :naughty:

Some great images and ideas Anita but the passion flower is a real eye catcher ........as said above 'wow'(y)
