Animal Cruelty

That's terrible, those poor animals :'(
They want chained up and beaten ,see what its like.
I thought the circus had already banned animals.

Giving this a bump so that hopefully more people see it.

If I can stop just one person from going to a circus then it would have been worthwhile

oh my god that was shocking. I could not watch it! I wish she kicked back!

That was disgusting, I cannot understand the mentality of these people.

On a side note animals are banned in performances by at least 1 of the local authorities in my area, Coventry City Council there's not a lot CCC are good with but this is one example where they lead

Poor old thing, and how the owner of the circus can see she is well treated...

Sorry guys, but after reading the thread I have decided not to watch the video. It sounds like it is going to be really bad and I am unable to handle that.

I do hope you appreciate thus little bump though.

Everyone is right, these people need a taste of their own medicine. I personally just don't understand how they can actually do thirst things and not care ?? Baffles me :(

I seriously want to hurt that guy. That poor animal.

Kev.

These low life should be banned from keeping any animal for life. To keep any animal that should be roaming vast areas of it's natural habitat near enough permanently penned, let alone chained up should be a criminal offence.

what a complete ******* ...he needs a stick taken to him

Saw a report on TV last night about it, hope they catch those involved and throw the book at them, but knowing our Criminal Justice System, they wll get off too lightly.

Some bumpage for this thread...hitting a human is one thing (they can rationalise it and might even deserve it) hitting or hurting animals is something else.

I suppose the elephant would have been shot, as a "threat", if it had just crushed him into a bloody smear when it got the chance?

This is one occasion when I feel like swearing on this forum!!!

No amount of punishment given to the offenders would be suitable, unless left alone with a handful of animal lovers. As far as I know she is being sent to live at Longleat, which is good news.

And no, I dont mean being sent first class parcelforce either :D

There was a slot on the One Show the other night about this and the owners claimed that they had been trying to find a home for Annie for the past two years.

I find it odd that this doesn't seem to have been reported anywhere.

Obviously not trying hard enough then, were they?

I have heard several excuses for them keeping her but most come back to the fact that she was still worth money to them ... By kids having their photo taken with her etc.

The video is horrible...having seen thesevanimals in the wild them jusy being chained up is cruel!! I really do hope the people beating her get what they deserve.

I don't know how hard they were trying or not and that wasn't the point I was trying to make.

I just find it very odd that it seems not to have been reported anywhere that they were trying (as stated in the One Show clip).

At the end of the day it certainly cannot be easy rehoming an elephant and Longleat will have a major boost in trade now she has moved there.

I'm not trying to be provocative and I abhor the violence inflicted on the animal, I'm just trying to take the wider view.

i vaguely remember having my photo taken with a circus elephant when i was very young, i wonder if it was annie??
glad she has been permanently rehomed where she will be loved and properly cared for. The daily mail has been running stories about this since it came out and have been raising money for longleat to build a proper elephant house to house up to 5 elephants, making room for other badly treated and old elephants from across europe, as the only place they can currently be sent is in the US which is not always suitable for the older/sick elephants, being such a long journey.
Last article I read said they had reached the £200,000 mark, think that was within 2 weeks

Geezus, I could cheerfully put some time into that ****!

People like that dont deserve to Walk the streets, they dont deserve to be human, or to live! Stuff like this makes me angry, what has this world come to. :'(
