Regarding point 4, removing passports is not the same as removing citizenship - two very, very different things.

You also made an argument in post 656 that I responded to in post 672. I would be interested in your views to my response.

I know removing citizenship isn't the same, but, that could have stopped extremists going off to fight in Syria. Now they will return battle hardened and will be on the same streets as me and you with a deep hatred of everything we stand for.

In regard to you second comment, posting what people in Australia/America/Middle East have to say against Extremism is great, unfortunately, I didn't see any of them counter protesting in this video I posted, and incredibly, no one has commented on.

2 - if I/you can't pay for petrol or get served in a bank wearing a motorcycle helmet, then the Burka should not be allowed either.

It probably isn't. But it's not a law and it's none of our business. It's down to the property owners.

Steve.

Rolling stock - So you're ok with your taxpayers money being pumped into private companies without return?.

Yes. It's for the good of the country. Anyway east coast is a government company.

Or using the aid money to plug a hole in the budget deficit.

It may come across as myopic but until we are in the black we shouldn't be frivolous with our money. IMHO.

What would you suggest then Steve? Quite a reasonable solution depending on where she is put. Not the first gullible teenager to do a stupid thing. Supervised after release, will be banned from owning weapons, will get psychiatric help and possible religious guidance also from vetted sources

Life without parole.

Steve.

Who'll be scared of some chippy person pulling the "discrimination" card.

The owners should ask the burka wearer to remove it as it's company policy, or to leave - with the fuel being added to the car syphoned back out and if need be the owner/car removed.

Security policy if the face needs to be seen fine, then biker and burka must show their face. It's that simple.

The rail companies should renew their own rolling stock. They charge enough. They shouldn't be subsidised.
If you, as a customer aren't happy with the carriages in which you travel, then lobby the company you pay to make imorovements.

They charge FA if you book ahead. I shouldn't complain, it's just too cheap to get about if you plan it.

If you need a season ticket for a twice dialy commute, they charge a fortune.

Whenever I look at train prices, I can always get to the same place by National Express coach for about half as much. If they want to compete, the trains need to be about the same price.

Steve.

in February 1993 talking about rail privatisation, Prime Minister John Major told Parliament "franchises will provide a better, cheaper and more effective service for the commuter."

sarky mode on:
Of course they have, haven't they?

not sure how you drive faster in a traffic jam into a bottleneck.

not really the point though, train travel has increased beyond the rate of inflation year after year with no improvement in service.

and thats not even on topic

Up here they've gone up under the rate of inflation.

I don't know about where you live but traffic even in Glasgow is very light at 7am, by 8am it's hell on earth

Journey times are faster on the train and they're a lot more comfortable to travel on.

Not for my commute they're not.
It would more than double my travel time and cost.

The EDL were in a town a few over yesterday "protesting" outside of a Muslim community meeting.

Funnily enough the EDL used a few quotes that could've been lifted from this thread.
Such as?

Relative to the bus?

Plus the people on the bus usually I like the avoid. I'm a snob.

The train would double my travel time.
The bus would triple it.
I drive.
You must surely remember what that's like?

My comment about trains was relative to Steves post re national express coaches.

Sorry if that's not come across.

Given I work in the city centre and don't live in the city centre, train is the way to go. I seldom drove in. All my driving was leisure. Not driving hasn't effected my day to day working life at all.

The memory of driving is a bit of a blur...I drove very fast :)

And another halfwit, amazing quote!
We have no problem with mosques being built over here as long as we can build mosques in mecca. I would love to see that, I would love to see a mosque being built in Mecca.

He probably meant church. A little bit incoherent. At least I hope he did.

Or perhaps he b*****d enough to not know the difference.
I know where I'd wager my quid.

Pm me the obscured word. I don't follow.

A pm would also obscure it.
There's a couple of seven letter candidates. ..either will do. :-)

The train is quicker but I think modern coaches are just as comfortable as trains. The extra time a coach takes doesn't bother me. I will just leave earlier.

Any advantage a train might have doesn't justify the fare being twice as much.
