Am I the only one who feels this thread has run its course.
The kind of debate that had most of the country backing the Iraq invasion, that you all quickly tired of and now call Blairs illegal war.
I'll bet I can pick out a few people on this forum who would have said not to go into there, and it's easy to spot those who would have considered it a great idea. Jeez, it's not like we have to have a degree in History to understand. This is quite simple.
Steve's idea of a future Britain is vastly different to the one I want, because we are both looking at a different present and see different things that need fixing.
Well you wouldn't would you. Argue your ill conceived thought process on how we are all going to be somehow turned into Muslims as much as you like, over and over and over and over...etc.

That's where the anger overshadows reason. What people say they want and what they will settle for are different things entirely. You know that, history has proved it, but your hatred clouds your judgement, it's common enough so don't feel bad.
Then I'm sure the answer is for you to simply not participate any further in the thread.
It's been, and continues to be, a very interesting thread.
No reason to try to get it locked simply because you've had your fill.

I'd consider Steve's viewpoint stemming from a patriotic sense of being strongly committed to British values and the adoption of those values by others and very scathing of any form of Balkanisation in the UK whether it be political or religious. The arguments can come across a bit blunter written down on here than if we were all sitting in a pub conversing where we could gauge tone, body language etc. I think coming up to the election you'll see a lot more strong and distinctive opinions like Steve's being communicated in the media. People really are waking up to what they perceive is happening in the country now.

If I know Steve as well as I think I do he has shown off his predilection for disagreeing with a post without actually reading it or understanding what it....
No. It's fun. We have different opinions on things and are able to discuss them. What's wrong with that?
Lets give him a test then. 5 + 5 is 10.
Steve.
Quite. Those reporting in the media are more likely to have some facts to report though.
You see 'appease or smash', you're also hung up on rhetoric because it suits your world view, no matter how ridiculous the premise. How can you reason with those that are hell bent on destroying and killing western people. Why would you want to appease that rather than smash them to oblivion.
It may well be 10 under British rule. Im sure all that will change when we are all ruled with an iron sharia fist!

No, you've posted links to lots of sensationalist stories from corners of the media which have no credibility to any of the people who disagree with you.I've posted lots of links and facts but because they don't fit with your liberal vision you've dismissed them.
Don't say you haven't been warned

It is pointless asking questions where you know you'll never get an answer. A waste of a question opportunitywheras you have an inside track to what MI5 are thinking ?![]()
A few mixed up messages in there. The Irish threat still remains, although it is less so than the Islamist threat. A potential risk is always there anyway, however the threat levels are raised and are currently one below the maximum level in the UK. If you witness and pay attention to certain potential targets you can witness significant increased security protocol.Theres been a constant terror threat since the 80s (or before) first it was the marxists, then the irish, then muslim extremists, plus the far right and the far left are always an option and so on - so yes there's a 'potential' risk but stating that we are "under attack" is hysterical hyperbole - personally I refuse to live in fear when in practice there is a far higher risk of being hit by a car or dying of heart disease etc.
You can't. Back to one of my earlier posts.Yes. It's all made up by skinheads. It's all lies. It's all made up.
Head and sand. I can do no more.

Really appreciate that I am entitled to disagree. That is very kind of you indeed. And I do disagree. 30 years on people still blame Baroness Thatcher, to me that is just unbelievable. Why not take some personal responsibility and move on. The right to work wasn't taken away at all, but you got to move on. The work environment will change. Subway makes those business decisions, if it isn't economically viable then there is no point in keep on serving pork when nobody is buying it. Socialism and state sponsored industry doesn't work. Too many examples of those failing, or worse in my opinion where there unfair competition puts other businesses out of business. You're entitled to disagree. But I lived through the state sanctioned violence that destroyed industry in the North of England and have watched those devastated communities struggle through the aftermath. The monetarist answer was that it didn't matter, because we could make the City a nice place for foreign dealers to do business and as long as the balance of payments was OK, unemployment was worth it (we saw the end result of that in 2007). When you've seen the police hunt down ordinary working class people who just wanted the right to work beat them and invent charges to lock them up, it gives you a different perspective on the Tory ethos.
ex council estates are not full of Champagne socialists - they're full of right of centre UKIP supporters, who managed to struggle through with state help and now think everyone else should do the same (but without the help). FFS I do wonder if some people here ever speak to actual human beings.
Links to Daily Mail articles. You lead such an insular existence, tvat you have no life experiences to back up any of the crap you are spouting.
Don't worry about it @ST4 I imagine the bullies like that super overweight in s stained vest top sitting on their lonely kitchen table eating from a tin of baked beans. Imagine gluttony scene from Seven. I bet he has really a Canon![]()
"Tvat" is the "v" a "w" or a "h"
"Tvat" is the v a w or h?
I've backed my views up with evidence, you just with mockery and abuse.
Others seem to share my view, perhaps I'm not alone.
Are you going to insult them, or just me.
Can you also please explain with factual evidence how my life is insular.
Because I don't strut around with tatoos on my face, go to metal concerts, I don't own a dog? If I did those things would I become a man of the world in your liberal pinko tainted specs view of the world?
wheras you have an inside track to what MI5 are thinking ?

Well, we disagree on about every point of that. The Tory press keep telling you that the Labour spending spree is what broke the economy, but it was doing fine till the banks needed bailing out (by every measure). We can't blame the banks so....Really appreciate that I am entitled to disagree. That is very kind of you indeed. And I do disagree. 30 years on people still blame Baroness Thatcher, to me that is just unbelievable. Why not take some personal responsibility and move on. I was about to say sorry, but you know what I am not sorry and wouldn't know why to begin a sentence like that other than it being an English this. Thatcher is dead, she hasn't been in power for nearly thirty years. Labour has had thirteen consecutive years to move things around but instead merely went on a spending spree and extended the credit card. And yet again the Tories had to come to the rescue. All indicators are that the UK is doing relatively well, but no people complain. What I really live in fear of is that labour gets voted in again and once again ruins a good run.
Nice bit of irrelevant grammatical pedantry from one whose own posts sometimes defy literacy.![]()

Wow, well done for pulling me up on a typo. You must be very pleased with yourself.
What factual evidence have you backed up your hysteria with exactly. Id love to see it.
Maybe I should have been clearer, so apologies. The fact that you appear to have a very blinkered view on the world around you, would suggest to me that you lead an insular life. Ok?
Your last paragraph is quite frankly laughable. You never answered me when I asked it before, earlier on in the thread, but why do you use those things as an example of how to become a "man of the world"? I dont have tattoos on my face. I do go to metal concerts because I enjoy the music and social aspect (friends, in case you're not familiar). Yes I do own a dog...a very dangerous Muslim Rottweiler. I also have a family of my own, have travelled extensively, experienced numerous cultures across the world, and have many friends and wonderful memories from those places ive visited. I believe all this has helped shape me into a well rounded individual.
Anyway, enough about me. Whats your favourite colour?
It was a simple question. Hence the "?".

If you actually read the post, it would be pretty obvious, even to you, what the word should have been.
No. It was classic "Steve".
