I think the two burning questions have to be,
1) why has the OP disappeared from the thread (ages ago)
2) will this hit the 1000 post mark before being shut down?

Answers on a postcard please

Christianity
Fox hunting
Sunday Lunch
Freedom of speech
Freedom from oppression
Equal rights for men and women
Grouse shooting
pheasant shooting
voting
taxing the rich heniously
Speeding and complaining about getting caught
voting conservative

Lets see...

Christianity NO
Fox hunting NO
Sunday Lunch NOT REALLY
Freedom of speech DEFINITELY (but common in most countries)
Freedom from oppression AS ABOVE
Equal rights for men and women AS ABOVE
Grouse shooting NO
pheasant shooting NO
voting YES
taxing the rich heniously GOOD IDEA
Speeding and complaining about getting caught NO
voting conservative DEFINITELY NOT

So none of those are really 'British values'.

1) Because that's what he does.
2) I don't see why not, it's been allowed to run this far. To close it down would show unnecessary censorship.

It can't be a British value if it's illegal!

Steve.
Fox hunting is not illegal. Certain aspects of it were banned but hunts still legally continue.

All good things come to an end at some point ;)
It wouldn't be censorship anyway, it wouldn't be deleted, just locked ;)

Fox hunting is not illegal.
Hunting with dogs is and that's how most people perceive fox hunting ;)
(I'm agreeing with you BTW ;) )

Well, I don't mind upper class twits in red coats on their hands and knees chasing foxes. That would be good to watch!

Steve.

David Cameron wrote a good piece on British values. A snippet of it is:

I’m clear about what these values are – and I’m equally clear that they should be promoted in every school and to every child in our country.

The values I’m talking about – a belief in freedom, tolerance of others, accepting personal and social responsibility, respecting and upholding the rule of law – are the things we should try to live by every day.

To me they’re as British as the Union flag, as football, as fish and chips.

Of course, people will say that these values are vital to other people in other countries. And, of course, they’re right.

But what sets Britain apart are the traditions and history that anchors them and allows them to continue to flourish and develop.

Our freedom doesn’t come from thin air. It is rooted in our parliamentary democracy and free press.

Our sense of responsibility and the rule of law is attached to our courts and independent judiciary.

Our belief in tolerance was won through struggle and is linked to the various churches and faith groups that have come to call Britain home.

These are the institutions that help to enforce our values, keep them in check and make sure they apply to everyone equally.

Freedom of worship is one, but blowing people up and conspiring to murder isn't....

And the vast majority of faithful muslims don't do that either.
Just as the majority of British people have never participated in fox hunting, grouse shooting, practicing Christianity or indeed voting.

Yes, that's correct and it's still legally done, well here north of the border any how. Packs of dogs are allowed to be used to flush the foxes to waiting guns then they are shot. The dogs are not allowed to terminate the fox as before, they must be shot but they are still used for hunt purposes and all the pomp, circumstance and tradition that goes along with it continues.

Well it is censorship because you are denying the opportunity to reply. Freedom of speech and all that.

It'll find it's own natural conclusion anyway.

Not sure hunting with dogs is illegal.
Hunting live quarry with them is but there are plenty of hunts operating with hounds in drag hunts. (And no....they're not hunting burly fellas in frocks  )

Edit. ...in England.

Thats the point and how fox hunting is perceived.
It was a badly worded piece of legislation,
to end fox hunting. You can still hunt live human quarry with dogs,
as long as the humans aren't killed :D

And you can hunt foxes as long as no more than 2 dogs are used,
and the fox is shot, not killed by the dogs.

Mrs Jones, however, taking 3 terriers for a walk, and one nails a squirrel,
is however open to prosecution under the act ;)

Even if the squibble is grey and muslim? ;)

Well it is censorship because you are denying the opportunity to reply. Freedom of speech and all that.
And has been discussed many times in this and other threads,
there are certain things that you would not / should not say in the interests of common decency.

I do believe that the freedom of speech act (and I'm sure someone will Google the answer and correct me if I'm wrong)
was some ancient law regarding being able to criticise the government and "Crown"
Where as before both were punishable by death. (?!)

It'll find it's own natural conclusion anyway.
Indeed it will, but that's not to say that it won't get shut down, because of all the
bitching and personal insults.
If everyone attacked the post and not the poster, we would
get far less RTM's the thread (any thread) would stay under the radar,
and go largely unnoticed.

Well, I can't be accused of that but you know my feelings on those who use the RTM. Nuff said!!

Not Aimed at you Brash, in the slightest ;)
But some seem to think its a sport RTMing those
who's points of view differ from theirs.

Thats not only in this thread BTW.

I just don't understand that mentality.

Yeh, I know that;)

I think for some, RTMs are a blood sport all their own!

I reported myself earlier. Sorry about that. I had been naughty though apparently.

Absolutely.
That's not to say that we don't welcome RTM's though.
We read them all, some we may not act on them for whatever reason.

The best ones are the ones that they get a "mate" to back them up with a further RTM 20 mins later.
If we haven't done anything, (or been seen to do anything) or done as they would have liked.

But as above all are read and taken on their own merits

I thought I told you to go stand in the norty corner?
:p

I don't disagree with supply and demand. Supermarkets regularly change their ranges, but they can do that without products being banned, and so can subway.
Is it banned, or is it in reality merely not stocked? I mean how can a commercial organisation ban its own products? I could be wrong but doubt it is actually banned by the government.

Were there truly any posts that required reporting? What have I missed?

I think that the admin type guys should post a table of who reports the most posts, then we all know the prime, spineless tossers on here.
I think we can imagine who a few are and they know who they are.

TBH I think you would be surprised at the results. ;)

Not the point with these tho is it. Some kinda childish game on the scale Cobra mentioned.

Actually could we make the two top reporters have a mud fight during the June megga meet in Whipsnade? I think that would make for a lovely photography master class
