weekly Andy0306 52 attempt - Vertical, Loud and reshoot, added.

faultless daffodil shot but I was hoping for something more erm ... edgy

Hi Andy

now thats how you shot a Daffodil.....perfect DOF as all of it's in focus & the yellow is perfect  Only minor crit is maybe have got slightly lower down ?

good idea and well caught! I think a little less DOF and the hand not covering the face would improve it slightly but other than that I like it. (y)

Good shot - yep, needs a small straighten and the hand over the face is unfortunate, but you can still see the eye and the smile, so not disastrous.

Good choice of shutter has really frozen the ribbon in its perfect swirl.

Unfortunately, I have a bridge camera and DoF whilst doable isn't great.

Have to admit it was full auto, so the camera gets the credit

Thanks for all the comments, much appreciated :)

Really good choice in ribbon colour Andy, works well against the grass (y) I've got to admit though, I also thought it was an unlucky positioning of her hand over her face :)

Nice shot for swirl Andy - being able to see your daughters face may have added a bit more to the shot but overall nicely done

Nice idea. The hidden face has been mentioned. The swirl thing has been well caught but I'm wondering whether a slower shutter speed creating some motion blur would have worked. I'm not totally convinced by that idea but maybe worth a try.

Hi feel its all been said above, nice idea let down a bit by some obvious problems

I'll claim a double with this one, linked and a re-shoot of time :D Not entirely happy with it though but post here goes.

Hi Andy

good focus , well lit , plenty of detail , good color on my screen (looks true to life) & on theme for both Linked & Time :) A wee bit too tight on the top , would have liked a little more of your arm in frame to the lhs & a different bg color...... don't want much do I

It's the wifes arm so I'll blame her :)

Andy ... the pocket watch shot is good technically (focus, lighting & stuff)

but ... there is something cold about it: a hand that doesn't love the watch?!

The curve certainly adds a little interest Andy, possibly a lower pov though for me :)

Think I have a long way to go with this photography game

One thing I can guarantee - If you keep the camera in its bag... you won't improve!

Keep at it, take inspiration from others, even try to replicate someone else's shot you like (once in a while, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery etc, etc.)

For steps, the subject is there, technically its all good, just that mystery extra bit that would lift it, that's the challenge (for me anyway). Here could be a different POV, a shallower DOF, a subject or item placed on the curve of the steps with a nice shadow coming from them / it??

HTH

Interesting steps ... difficult to know how to approach something like that.

In an attempt to not fall too far behind, I'm throwing this one in as a filler (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :) ).
