Andy Murray

There's quite a few footballers run about 9km in a match, without regular rests. The surprisingly fit athletes are in f1.
They might cover 9km, but most of it is probably at a trot.

I couldn't help but feel that Djokovic took the pee today, what with the phantom injuries.

I am not a fan of reality TV shows, in fact I positively loathe most of them, but having seen the article where Jenson Button went up against the two Brownlee brothers in fitness/stamina tests, if someone decided to bring back a modern version of Superstars, I think i might be tempted to tune in ;) Not sure the golf/snooker/darts crowd would be keen to join, but otherwise, across sport there are some supremely fit individuals, it would be quite interesting to see them pit themselves against each other in different tests [a range that covered a range of 'fitnesses' depending on their chosen sport, mental, speed, agility, stamina, etc] With modern training techniques, knowledge and understanding, would it it be a whole different ball game to the 70's/80's version, or would it be sheer bloody mindedness that would win out. Would their insurance companies/teams/sponsors let them take part?

Some F1 drivers do triathlons/iron man competitions (as well as Mark Webber's cycling exploits...) Hadn't seen the Button v Brownlee bros articles before, interesting that JB got claustrophobic in the swim mask. Having sat in a single seater cockpit and getting my fat arse stuck, I know how claustrophobic that can feel!

I remember Andy Fordham's claim to being an athlete a few years back - words to the effect of "I wear trainers, of course I'm an athlete!" (delivered very much tongue in cheek!!!) I'm told that the 9 hole rounds I play are just over 3 miles measured tee to pin, so a 4-5 mile walk by the time I've followed my erratic shots! (And no, I most certainly don't consider myself an athlete these days.)

Shame AM didn't put up a better fight in the final set but the better player did win.

not to mention he spends most of his working life in a full face helmet.

That too! When I wear one (full face), it's one of the hinged chin piece types so less claustrophobic than the fixed ones. Usually wear an open face and would sometimes not wear one (actually do sometimes not wear one!) at all given a choice.

I take it you mean the guy at 4 [crossfit] not pic number 4, the cowboy? :D

Can I spend a lot of time watching the guy at number 36 please

I meant the cow

Yes the crossfit guy ;)

That said - a few years back I recall motorcross / trials bike riders were up there as the fittest.
