British to Scottish in 3.0 sets. :exit:

 That'll teach him to speak badly of English football :naughty:

Never been a fan of the guy's attitude and I doubt he'll ever win a major title. He's just not consistent/good enough to go a tournament with at least one rubbish game.

some sourpuss with bumfluff.

He needs to keep his cool, he lets his nerves get the better of him. Hopefully we'll see a win at Roland Garros!

It's crazy how much the press blew one line of banter out of proportion and it still seems to have stuck around after three years!:cuckoo::naughty:

Don't get me started on the mummies boy. I even travelled to St Petersburg to watch him, well at least he won there.

But today, Mrs Bl00 has a right monk on. Here's hoping for a happier day tomorrow.

And he's definitely Scottish now.

He does what us Scots do best, lose with grace.

I think it's great that he got to the finals, but I just don't think that he has the killer instinct to take it that step further. Anyway, well done to him for getting so far, he did better than I ever could have.

I swear the BBC show shots of his mother more than they show shots of him.

Ecstatic that he lost. Thoroughly dislike the guy.

Not a fan of tennis or any tennis player, but when I see Andy Murray I just get a picture of him, as a child, in my mind taking cover in a classroom when Thomas Hamilton shot all those kids in Dunblane school.

He gets a bit further than Henman ever did, but 0 for 3 in Grand Slam Finals doesn't look good.

The scottish have plenty of practice!!

You just know that the commentators want to say that his opponent got the big guns out when they ace serve him.:|

And don't get me started on the directors persistant super slow motions of the players expressions. Drives me mental.

He did bloody well i reckon ... it is rather strange how he's become .......bi-national in some peoples eyes though .....oh well

Hopefully we'll see a win at Roland Garros!

More chance of winning at Wimbledon than at the French. The Spaniards, French and the South Americans will see to it that Murray gets no further than the 1/4 final's at this event. His best chance by a mile was the Oz open, possibly the US open if he picks himself up and learns from this experience....again!!!!

Haha...Typical British response to a bad loser. I prefer someone to have a bit of grit and wear it on their sleeve like Murray does. Its clearly not everyones cup of tea, but I prefer it to tiger Tim Henmans grace.

He might never win a major, the boy has done well from a small village in Scotland. If English,NI or Welsh don't want him playing under the Union Flag. I'm sure Murray will happily don the Saltire.

"Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser"

I agree he may lack sparkling personality which is expected of people in the public eye, and sometimes may say things which dont help his reputation, but I do think that one day he will win a major!

I don't mind him, would like him to win, it would do tennis in this country a lot of good and hopefully encourage youngsters to take up the game.

Andy ,

I am sure he will, and my original comment was a tongue in cheek comment about his original quote prior to world cup where AM insisted he was Scottish, not British............(when asked if he would be cheering on England)

From what I saw of the final, he beat himself rather than the other guy winning. If he had played like he did in earlier rounds (IE actually getting the odd first serve IN now and then! And at least trying to miss the net with unforced errors.) He would have won it I reckon.

British to Scottish is a step up, pity poor Tim Henman he went from English (notice the English media never called him British) to English - no-one else in the union ever wanted him:lol:

His head went after he lost the first set - smashed his racket down when they went for their drinks break. I find that attitude confusing and negative, still had a whole game in front of him...

I dont think he was ever insisted he was Scottish, not British. He has stated himself to be both Scottish and British, not either or. I believe Henman bantered with him before the world cup and said "Where is Scotland is in the world cup" and he jokingly retorted "he would support whoever england is playing"

I like him. He's an excellent competitor and a great tennis player. His tongue was firmly in his cheek when he said that. Nice to wind the daily express / mail readers up now and again.

His dour demeanour is like a pie crust. Underneath is a fizzing intelligent human.

Fizzing is not an adjective i would use, but hey ho.
