I am thinking of treating myself to aTablet for popping in my bag for sat on train, pub and having something when i just don't want my laptop out.
Its a cheeky end of year company bonus as well so need to buy within next 7 days.

idealy 8+inch and thing Samsung, dont really want apple as i like to an external micro sd card for ease of films and stuff.

Don't know how much you want to spend, but I'm currently using one of these (on test), and I have to say, it's rather good.

I was looking at 8 inch but I was thinking the 9.7 versions might be better for me as my close vision is poor. Also it would bridge the laptop gap on holidays with one of those bluetooth keyb cases.

Best off posting this in the correct forum.
I posted it in this forum as I thought it might get noticed but yes please move it to a forum that will get ignored cheers

How much do you have to spend?

Does it have to be new?

I like the Google Nexus

300 to spend. Needs to be new for company. Not fond of lenovo. Just looked at sammy 8 inch with improved screen.... nice

I had the original Tesco 8'' Hudl, which I thought was very good, but when the battery started going I didn't fancy the larger 10'' Hudl 2. So I went for the 8'' Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, which is so much faster than the Hudl. I like the 8" size, as it is very portable.

I use my tablet every day, and I wouldn't pay too much for one as once the battery starts to go that is generally it for most of them. Very wasteful. [emoji35]

Tut...Paul, you have to consider the effect you may have on threads posted by the more attention seeking members of the forum, I mean...you can't just go round posting threads willynilly without a thought for their perceptions.
For instance, if you were to post an Android thread in a more popular section than a....say.....win 7 thread, those win 7 thread posters may perceive the Android thread to be a threat to the popularity of their own, or wish them to be side by side comparable, see their arses and try ensure both threads play in the same competition.
I know it don't make sense, but you have to show a little more sensitivity for their "needs".

:D

If I didn't already have a tablet that I don't use, I'd be looking at a Google tablet of some kind.
Its been a long time since I used an Android phone buggered up by handset manufacturer bloat, whilst I have enjoyed a few samsungs over the years the google offerings have been much more my kind of thing.
I know this is unhelpful since the current google edition is £100 over budget and I can't comment on its function, but that's where I'd be focusing my attention :)

Anything but Lenovo - I've had two and both packed up and ceased to be within 6 months

My kids have both had a lenovo yoga tab 2 since Christmas and it's still going strong, got for £150 each and nothing came close to it for spec. My mother has the lenovo A2 and its been great too. I myself have a Samsung tab s2 8" and it's great.

I think mine were pretty cheapo tablets, so in that sense I guess you really get what you pay for

I have used a Sony Xperia Z3 tablet for 18 months now with no problems, recommended.

Mines an Asus zenpad 8s - and it's great. The screen is a treat: 2048*1536 so is great for photos. Only £150 from Currys.

Nvidia Shield K1.

Somebody on this forum recommended it to me and it is ridiculously powerful for the money. Or any money really.

I ended up with the Samsung S2 8 inch version with the build in 4g LTE sim slot.
ridiculously good screen and so light to carry in my bag.
