Android Photography Apps

Thanks Dave ;) for slideshow / presentation. On a Samsung tab2.

haha...no idea where I got Andy from

I've just started using JustPictures!, its free (no ads either), and seems to do the trick. It will display local files as well as link to online accounts (flickr, picassa, 500px etc).

Haven't given it a thorough going over yet, but it seems a great app so far

Thanks, will have a look. Just downloaded quickpic, seems ok. Looking for a rating system too, needle in a haystack.

Can you crop and straighten in it now though?

just had a look at pixlr express, you can crop, straighten, edit and a whole lot more. no rating system though.

I just need one that can do it all. Crop, straighten and rate being the must haves

Not tried it yet but have a look at Adobe® Photoshop® Touch, looks promising

I'm using DSLR controller with my 7D / Nexus 7 +25m USB cable, it lets me sit in the warm & take shots outside with full liveview

Ok. Will have a look when I get home. It's not on the Play Store in my mobile but that probably means it's just not available for my mobile. Need wifi on the tablet to check. Cheers

Does anybody now of an app like this that works with Nikon?

I don't think Touch has a rating ability either :(

Okay, what about camera apps themselves rather than editing tools?

Any replacement camera apps that can be skewed to play more like shutter priority rather than auto/scene modes they normally come with?

I like Camera FV-5 as it's very configurable. One of the options is to select Program mode or Shutter priority. Selecting Shutter gives me (on my Galaxy S2) the options Auto, Short, Long, Long+, 1", 2", 5", and Custom. Mind you, as my phone has a fixed aperture, setting a shutter speed can only alter the ISO to suit, so longer shutter speeds means more noise.

Selecting Auto from the above option simply puts the camera back into Program mode. And if you select anything else, you can't change the ISO manually for obvious reasons.

I have a feeling that at the moment there are very few phones that have variable aperture lenses.

Would a longer shutter speed not require a lower ISO and therefore less noise?

D'oh! I get that the wrong way round more often than you'd think. I use Aperture priority mode almost all of the time on my Nikon DSLR and Canon compact. At least, that's my excuse... :)
