I'm not so sure about the iPhone4S, it's not a major upgrade from this iPhone4, so I've been toying with the idea of getting an Android platform phone. Problem is that I love using Snapseed, Photoshop Lite & Filterstorm as well as a few Panoramic apps. Are they available on Android? If not what apps are?

Cool thanks guys :) I didn't know Android Market was so easily accessible

And if you want a good editing app look at pic say pro. It's loaded with features and functionality

Can any of those recommendations load files of an inserted SD card, straight from the camera?

Photoshop Light is available for Android, though PicSay Pro is much better for post-processing, as is Little Photo. In my opinion, Vignette is the best Android photo app bar none, though many people also like Camera360.

Dale, not sure precisely what you mean but if you mean to edit photos then both PicSay and Little Photo can edit photos already on an SD card.

On my Asus trandformer, I can insert an SD card into the dock. This seems to be ignored by light box and adobe's Photoshop essentials.

Right, I need a little help. I have searched and searched on google for photo editing apps for Android adn all it comes up with are the ones I have or photo styling (rather than editing)

I have Quickpic and Photoshop Express but they are missing that one little bit of functionality I really need the most:

-Adding a star or grading to the photo.

My process for editing my sports photos is, go through and crop, straighten if needed and star/grade the keepers.

Is there an app for the android that does this? The whole reasoning behind buying my tablet was to be able to sit on the coach and do this bit of my process but there's no point if I can't star the ones I want to keep

I felt the same when I was looking for a tablet Kelly; ie I preferred the hardware functionality of android based ones to the limitation of the iPad. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything that would match with Filterstorm, Photosmith ( the LR grading App) and most importantly Shuttersnitch.

If there is anything out there, its likely to be fairly new. Android dev just doesn't seem to concentrate on the working graphic Apps v the playtime ones.

This isn't a dig against the platform, but it forced me to go down the Apple route which is a real pain. Try printing from an iPad or getting a decent WP App for example- Android at least has those cracked! :)

Does it have to be star and grading or just one of those features and do you mean star as in stick a star on the image literally as a self note/reminder?

Just to remind myself which photo I want to put in the upload album really iyswim. My grading is either keep or don't keep

Normally I star/tag/grade the keepers and then do a select all tagged/starred (blah blah) and export to a processing album. When I've got a few hundred it's a great little tool

Have a look on the market for "just pictures".
It's an app that allows tagging and batch handling.

May or may not be what you are looking for

Cheers, will have a little look :D

I've just got an iPhone 4S primarily on the strength of its camera and photo app support.

The camera in my HTC Desire isn't as good and I found the range of apps a bit limiting. I mostly used Camera 360, but it's a big slow and bloaty.

There are so many good photo apps on iOS that I'm like a kid in a camera store!

Doesn't have a crop function though so that app has just gone in the bin along with the others.

It's worth keeping an eye on Adobe's new App, Carousel, as they're apparently bringing out a windows & Android version in the nearish future. It isn't a cheap solution though!

Thanks Mark and I don't mind paying for a decent app, it's the main reason I bought the tablet so I can edit while commuting to work

You do insist on dragging things out! might be a lot less annoyance for me if you either put links or information like that in the first reply ;)

Right, having a look on my mate's ipad at it. Looks a good app, is the 39.99 for a year and the 3.99 for month? Don't disappear when you're helping

I know about as much as you probably now know; I only picked up on it via a tweet yesterday, but it seems to be one of the few apps for Android in development that will do what you need.

There was a guy who was looking at developing something similar earlier in the year, but he got a large amount of negative feedback when asking for input. You can find traces of him on Google if you hunt around for 'Android photo flag' or 'Android Photosmith'.

Bringing this one back to see if anyone has found one yet?

I've still been looking :shake:

Don't think Instagram does quite what I want though

Not for actually taking photos, but FlickFolio's great. It syncs with your Flickr account and downloads all your photos so you can show them to others even when you don't have an internet connection. I have it on my Touchpad, works a charm :)

I have flickfolio and I agree, it's very good but I'm after an editing app like Lightroom

Anyone?

Snapseed by Nik software is due to be released to Android this year.
No indication yet whether it will be for tablet or tablet and phone.

Is there a thread for iPhone photography apps?

Just bought Flickfolio for my phone. It's great, cheers.

Thanks, I have the photoshop express and it has some of the stuff I want. Still haven't been able to work out how to load the photos from my gallery stored on my tablet, seems I have to upload them to photoshop.com or something first

don't believe the Apple propaganda. When I was using Android I very rarely couldn't find anything on the market and there is a lot of good free stuff.

Resurrecting an old thread but looks like Photo Mate for the Android does what I want it to do, has all the features I need plus the rating feature :D

Maybe not, don't think it crops :shake:

Holy thread revival :D

Any news on decent photo apps for the android??
