I have just come back from URBIS in Manchester after visiting the Andrew Brooks Exhibition, Reality Hack: Hidden Manchester. I have to say if you are in traveling distance of Manchester City Center, get down there and visit! The images on display are stunning! All taken in 'secret hidden places' around the city and the lighting has to be seen to be believed. When I was about 9 or 10, my Dad, who worked as a telephone engineer at Dial House, took me into some of the 'catacoombs' under the Victoria area when he had to repair a fault, this has always stuck in my memory and this took me back (a long time!). To get more info click on this LINK Please go if you can, you will not regret it!

I have a photographic memory that was never developed

Hi, glad you enjoyed the exhibition, it was a really interesting commission to work on and it's great the people are getting the chance to see the pictures big as there meant to be. oh and Trisha don't go on Monday, URBIS is shut on Monday, any other day of the week is fine.

Cheers

Yep! Tried to book while I was there but fully booked (on first day I was told) so I left my details as they said they were trying to organise more trips.

Cheers Andrew! I gather you are a member of our fine and upstanding throng?
Congratulations on the exhibition, intend to go again with a mate this week (or it could be Sinclairs) Still waiting for the Perigrines to show up too!

Took a trip into town today - some very good stuff, and certainly breaking 'the rules'!! :) Not as keen on the Urbex stuff, but that shot from the Palace is a ****in belter!! :D

Those shots really are quite amazing. Love the uber wide angle effect and the lighting is lovely!

Oops, missed this post....went today with 17, 12, and 7 year old offspring. They loved it, i loved it, and it was open (unlike the city art gallery). And it was Monday :). Took in a bit of street photography, meal, stock up in Chinatown supermarket. Thanks Andrew.

Trisha

I agree about the Palace shot...my favourite too.

Oooh missed this thread.
Might take a trip down this week, time permitting.
Just spent 15 minutes looking at the gallery on the website, and reading the descriptions (something I rarely do! lol)

Some stunning photography there, bet it looks ace in full sized print.
