Good evening. Just joined this forum, looking for a solution that someone here might be able to help with.
I recently bought the Andoer AD560 IV 2.4G Wireless Universal On-camera Slave Speedlite Flash Light GN50 LCD Display for Canon Nikon Olympus Pentax for Sony A7/ A7 II/ A7S/ A7R/ A7S II, as shown on the URL, below.
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/162555343375

It can be used on-camera, or as a wireless slave. On camera, it works fine, but when used wirelessly, it does not work properly. I am using the built-in flash on a canon 7D to trigger it. While it does flash, the light is not apparent in the photo. It is as if it is flashing a split second, after/before the exposure. I use my Canon wireless flash this way and it works perfectly.

Would a hot-shoe wireless trigger/receiver set used with the Andoer help with the timing, or would this be throwing good money after bad.

Does it have more than one slave mode? Eg S1 and S2? In S1 it will fire when first flash detected. In S2 it will ignore a preflash. If your camera is emitting a preflash and you are on S1 then the flash will fire too soon as you describe. Switching to S2 should fix it.

Yes, that could be the problem. Not sure that flashgun has an S2 mode, but switching the 7D's pop-up to manual firing will eliminate the pre-flash and all should be well.

Welcome to TP :)

Thank you for your responses. The Andoer has only one slave mode. I now realize that I left out the important fact that I want to use two external flashes. I have tried all possible combinations to get the flashes to work together. The Andoer does work when it and my camera are set to M mode, but then the Canon ext. flash does not. I have tried all possible combinations of settings.
I would like to know (before purchase) if using a hotshoe trigger -- such as https://www.ebay.com/itm/162633922554 -- with a receiver on both flashes would synchronize the two lights.

It should be possible to trigger both flashes in slave mode from the canon built in flash. Which other flash do you have? What settings are you using in your camera?

I have a canon with pop up flash, an external canon and a yongnuo (bit like you andoer) I’ll test it out.

Camera will fire the Andoer in manual mode but not auto, as you've discovered, and will fire the Canon flash in auto - but the Canon will not fire in manual. Canon flashes are awkward - you'd need a separate optical slave to fire that in manual, and even then it has to be a particular Canon-compatible type (Sonia - here https://www.colinsfoto.com/Sonia_Op...including_Canon_EZ_and__EX/p43950_466761.aspx )

You'd be much better off with some cheap radio triggers - suggest Yongnuo RF-603.

Rather than adding extra triggers and receivers, just get a Godox TT685C to replace the Andoer flash as it should give you remote TTL in combination with your existing Canon flash.

Hi,

I have bought andoe ad560 iv 2.4g and it has only one slave mode along with M and W (manual and wireless).
flash is independently working with pilot and also via triggering from wireless device.
But I am unable to use with my canon eos 70d. If put the flash or wireless device on hotshoue of camera, it says "either flash is off or not compatible"

I have tried triggering with built in flash option but none of my attempts are making external flash working with camera.
When I contacted the seller, he says this is universal flash and it should work with canon 70d.

I am very new new to external flash and want to use it with my canon eos 70d. I couldn't able to find any guide how to make these two work together.

any help to resolve my issue is highly appreciated.
thank you.
