am impressed by your neat cabling.... oh and the tv looks good too

Hmmmm still defrosting, would be nice to curl up in front of with an open fire close by right about now after been at Bolton Abbey.

You must have 5.1 or 7.1 sound to go with that.....so where is the centre speaker??

Shhhhh..

That will be here next week all being well Robert..

Those 2 speakers are just temporary..:p

I bought a 7.1 system and kept 2 speakers at work while Jill got used to having 5 around...then the other 2 were hardly noticed when they appeared ;)

btw... what size screen is that and what room size? Might upgrade one day :)

you sneaky men.....

It looks great Tim...can see you asleep in front of it right now ;)

42" panel Robert and quite a large room so it looks nice and not too bulky..:)

so when you getting Bluray or HDDVD then Tim?

Wait til I get one first. I can guarantee that whichever one I get will be obsolete within six months.

aye, tis the way of things! I think these 2 formats will stick around, mumblings of dual format players already...

Nice

I notice the little panasonic stereo on the left.......I have that little device in the bedroom....ever had a problem with the lift up lid thing on the CD? mine was repaired twice under warranty and it broke again just outside the 12months. :( it makes a nasty clicking sound as it opens)

Very nice - wanted a 32" TV myself, now Im not so sure after seeing this thread  ;)

this should be a show us your...thread

BBW, what sort of a job was it to hide the cables for the screen?

I'm considering a wall mounted LCD, but where i want it, there is nowhere to hide the cables.

I guess we'll excuse your absence for something so important! It looks great. I'll have to come by when you get the sound system and watch star wars or some such! ;)

mmmmmmmmm Star Wars......

I need to give my dads 50" HD TV the marathon treatment and see how it holds up.

mines the best :P

(not really my tv though, thought i should add that ahem :))

that is definitely a mans answer to a problem. LOL though

 Nice!! Wish I have a home to buy a large screen TV.

I have my Pioneer 42" wall mounted with all the cabling hidden in the wall cavity. I would highly recommend getting a pro installer to do the job. The one I used charged £300 and I don't regret a penny of it! Once you see the specialist stuff they use to get the cables where they need to be you realise it'd be a pretty difficult job to do properly yourself!

I could really do with sorting the cabling out behind my TV:

The cables there are for the TV, DVD player, router, modem, wired network external HDD that is plugged into the network, and the PS2...

Love the TV though, only had it a few weeks.

Pop quiz, what film was on the (HDMI Upscaling) DVD player at the time I took the photo? ;)

:woot:

I know, it was really easy :D

Just to update this thread.....:)

Bought a brand new HD Sky box on eBay this weekend and it was delivered today..

Rang Sky tonight and upgraded from Sky plus to the full package (everything inc movies) plus High Definition and I can only describe the picture quality as WOW

From the new HD box I have my 26" LCD in the kitchen linked via the HDMI cable supplied.

And the plasma in the lounge is linked via component..

Also got an X-Box 360 to link to it and a USB external HD DVD drive (when it arrives) so some decent veiwing this Christmas..:)

Stunning to say the least..

Looks like a 42px600? Funnily enough I was having fun (not!) wall mounting our new 42px60 on Saturday. Watched Shrek 2 with the lights off...faaaaantastic!!

Not really bothered about Sky but love the way it displays images from our DVD player and Xbox (Xbox360 for Christmas I think!)

We've got a 42" Pioneer Plasma, we've had it years now, it was one of the first out and cost an arm and a leg :|

Got a 32" JVC LCD in the kitchen too, played the xbox 360 on that a few times and it looks sweet as :D

I've been given permission to buy a LCD/Plasma screen by "she who must be obeyed" :)

but...

only if I sell the 32" crt first :(
