And the NHS is actually expected to pay for this?

My heart goes out to the family and young lady. Many years ago I worked for Turning Point, trying to help people with mental health problems as it does cover a lot. I do think it is sad if you say Mental Health, as some do not seem to care that people do suffer. It can destroy families and is not Taboo to say you have mental health issues.

Because we know that taking a blanket approach to things always works so well. :(
So are you saying mental illness shouldn't be given compassion, understanding and help? Or just some....

Genuine question, I can't quite work out your post.....

I can not understand your view on this. Mental Health IS very very serious, it is a matter of Life and Death. I feel very strongly with only love and help for people who suffer ANY form of mental health, reason why is, I can PROUDLY say I am Dave and I suffered from mental health since I was very young. I was very lucky to get the help I needed to as my Rock Bottom I would not wish on anyone. I was helped and that is the reason I decided to get a job working with the mental health team, and I LOVED it. I have my good days, and have bad days.

I don't understand why anyone would deliberately provoke others knowing the outcome will be getting called a prat or worse.

Very peculiar thing to do
Perhaps he has mental health issues :)

My next door neighbour had anorexia. The eating fad as some people call it killed her when he was 42. At the end she looked like someone with skin draped over her bones.

You said "I'd even argue a case for the NHS to treat delusions of a man in the sky too. Mental illness has many many faces, and they all need society's compassion, understanding and more importantly ..... help." You were taking a blanket approach to things you didn't like, hence my comment - one could argue that you were using the label 'mental illness' as an insult or a term of abuse.

I've not suggested mental illness should not be treated with compassion, either in this thread or elsewhere. Marcel - my comment is not intended to pick a fight, but I'd expected better of you.
