Still a good deal to be fair, but I'm going to see what happens in Feb regarding the video firmware update. I'm hoping that Canon are going to run some deals to promote that, but who knows?
I don't really need the 580, and with the £50 increase, it puts it in spitting distance of Kersos prices.

Sales guy in a camera shop told me that the new Canon price list shows the 5D2 RRP going up by £400. I wasn't in to buy a camera, just some accessories so he wasn't trying to sell me anything, just having a general conversation about prices.
I'd be stunned if Canon increased the price by £400 as that would put the body only at £2200. With Nikon on the verge of releasing an updated D700, you would think that Canon would be trying to saturate the market.
Of course, they may feel that the close price difference between the 7D and the 5DMkII isn't enough and they're trying to separate the markets. I guess no one really knows, but that level of price increase seems a little excessive, unless they're going to add some major new features/functionality.
