Hi all, not new but I feel very nervouse and like it is almost a new experiance, things are getting complicated, one feels the digital world is not for us old'uns, so in with both feet and hope you young'uns can help out
I've not picked up a camera for long time. I tried at the New Year but things just did not work out. Well a few weeks ago I thought, there is nothing in the forseable future, get out the camera. Nikon P7100 and a Panasonic G5, plus a whole pile of small compacts plus bits and pices.
To be honest, not realy inspiring . . . Could I get the mojo working, I had looked on and off at what was going on during 2015, again, not inspired. Then I happend to see a video about the new Panasonic Gx8, I had been aware of the Gx7, OK but still not quite there. Looked a bit closer, and reserching the Gx8, it had in its spec what I had always wanted, plus a whole lot more.
Things went by for a week or three, I sold a few bits, revisited Youtube, along with other sites. I still had the Nikon and the G5, WEX offered me a good trade in price yesterday I drove home from Norwich with a Panasonic Gx8. I kept the two Panie lenses I had, both kit types, a 14-40 and a 40-200, we checked they were compatable with the Gx8, not worth enough to trade in compared with replacement so I have a 'basic new setup' for not a lot of money, thats parting with hard cash type money, I even got a good dicount because the box seal was broken. Already looking at replacing the 14-40 for a faster 12-35 f2.8. I think I might stop there, for a while and get to know my Gx8, enjoy it abilities and see just how far one can take a basic setup . . .
Thats thoughts so far, would you believe the Gx8 still sits in its box un opened, I do this a lot these day with other items I have ordered for my other pasion, model aircraft, particuly gliders . . . you can see where my mind is going for some early shots? Holding me back is the weather and the arival of some seriously fast SD cards, should be tomorrow or Saturday?
