I've accepted no bed tonight. Too much wine, 4 kids plus the wrath of Karen in the morning / soon. Tomorrow will be a tough day given we have guests first thing.

A play day to make new friends then :D

@Yv you'll be able to lock the thread soon

It's looking good for the Union and for that I'm delighted :)

This isn't gloating, more relief from a believer in the union

Have to admit I have never really come down on either side, part of me felt the Union is better for everyone, the other part thought it probably was about time Scotland stood on its own two feet and I have swayed between the two and got very pee'd off that neither side in general, and the Yes campaign in particular, seemed to be furnishing the voters with actual facts, real life solutions and answers to genuine concerns, it was all sound bites and sniping at the opposition.
However actually sitting watching the results come in has been utterly fascinating in a way general elections never have been.

Anyway, I have coffee, cheers everyone :D

Just think if it had gone the other way you could have claimed political asylum for fear of the wrath of the better half

*note - the following comment IS tongue in cheek

Has anyone thought about how this was always going to be win/win for Salmond? If Yes win, he gets his SNP dream, but the SNP itself becomes defunct in effect. If it's a No victory, then he gets to carry on as leader of the SNP, haranguing Westminster and still pushing to have another vote in 5 years time.

...and yes, I know, I have probably missed this point being made umpteen times in this thread. ;)

Where's king salmond leaving poor little nicky to speak to the press...anyone know where he's flown to

Nova Scotia maybe :naughty:

Edinburgh apparently, he left Aberdeen, but not sure whether he was meant to be at Aberdeen City, which has already declared No [which would make sense for him to sod off very quickly] or Aberdeenshire, which hasn't yet declared.

No idea but let's not have an Independent 2 thread in it !

I think Salmond is going to lock himself in his bunker and do the decent thing.... Resign !

hmm...I'm not so sure, the man has rhino hide for skin, I suspect he will only go if he is pushed.

definitely no Independence Day 2 thread though ;)

I need to see this dead and buried before I go to bed.

There's always another day.
