Off work tomorrow so I'm tempted to stay up.

I've had a few drinks already though and I've stuff to do in the morning so I'm swithering.

I'll get my prediction in though"........

Majority will be hit with Glasgow / Edinburgh at approx 5:00 - result being Yes.

Final count by the end - I'll go go for 57%

Read the results are expected 6.30 to 7.30am, but it was a loose prediction.

One of the main pollsters, I forget who, just said on news night they think 99% sure for a no vote (vote being 54% no vs 46% yes). Early days of course but not promising for the yes campaign, though have been said polling on this is harder with no prior history to go back on.

There is no set time

The number of voters is known ahead of the yes / no count so the outcome will be triggered as soon as the majority is reached.

Glasgow / Edinburgh / borders are due in at 5:00am.

Given that equates to 28% of the electorate then it's more than likely the result will be clear then even if the final percentages aren't clear.

If it's still very close then we have to wait for the smaller ones that come in after that.

That's my district, not heard anything yet

My poor wife got harassed on the way to cast her vote by a load of "Yes" yobs, so much so she had to be rescued by the police

Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen all with low turn outs.


These were prime anti UK targets where I thought the yes brigade would have sucked up non voters.

They kept demanding the she told them which way she was going to vote and when she refused they started shouting abuse at her and harassing her as she walked along

Not sure why the police had not dispersed them earlier as my wife was not the first it would seem.

Glasgow - 75%
Dundee - 78.8%
Aberdeen - 81.7%

Those are high turn outs for those areas
 
Low turn outs for the big towns.

Regardless of the low turn out' one person one vote' will have a massive effect on the result and they will ultimately determine the result.

The undecided historical non voters in the big towns were always yes prey so perhaps the low vote suggests it's not worked out that way.

Still expect a huge yes influx % wise (and victory) once the main areas come in.

Alex Salmond has now pulled out of going to the Aberdeen count. Allegations of electoral fraud in Glasgow...... This doesn't bode well for the yes camp.
 
Given the time there could be a number of declarations in quick succession

Shetland just voted No

cba, its taking me some effort to just sit in bed with tv/laptop on. We are a bit built up here too at the bottom of hill, so view not great. Not sure if its coming this way, definitely rumbling in the distance atm

Check out http://www.lightningmaps.org/realtime?lang=en it works on a few seconds delay but if you follow the direction of the brighter dots it will tell you the direction of the storm :) well for the future anyway :)

Edit: looks to be going right over you...hope this will not drive the menagerie mad :thumbs:
