An Independent Scotland?

Lie to them - its a secret ballot after all

I did almost ask for a T-Shirt

I was going give my Land Rover wheels a rub down then hand it back ;)

Couldn't bring myself to do it though as they're all close friends.

The system is too set, the power too firmly entrenched, it needs a major blow against those that hold the power. Scotland voting for independence could be the first step in that process.
Ahem the electorate hold the power. If the electorate keep on voting for the same thing then so be it. A major blow and move towards socialism? Hmm not sure who is screwing who here ;)

At present, We would still be British regardless of the vote.

Oh good a war. We've not had a proper one of them for a while in the UK
We could call it the Scots War of Independence, then whoever wins, yes or no, as you are still British we can tell everyone that The British won.

Worked well with the US, they seem to think the Americans won...Obviously they didn't, there was no such animal then. They were all Brits. Of course when you tell our US Friends that, their sense of humour fails......Actually, they don't seem to have one to start with. Besides, once they tried to make Tea in Boston Harbour, it really was curtains for it as a colony. I mean, Tea? in cold salty water? It's no surprise we left them to it, and went north to do every God fearing Brits duty and kick the poo out of the French.

Talking of which Bob, does that mean you can't celebrate Trafalgar Day, you no longer being Brits?

Celtic/rangers games aside (remember those?) we are a peaceful nation. I don't ever recall in my 51 years us ever having riots in the street. Can't say the same for the English or the Yanks.
I don't think anyone will have anything to worry about.

You should have been at our village organic horticultural show. Police were brought in to deal with ugly scenes after the longest carrot winner was found to have used pesticides.

Some SNP idiot on Facebook was bragging that he voted 'Yes' and that he put "f@@@ Westminster" on the ballot paper - so 'spoiled' the ballot paper and lost his chance to vote!!!

Err, no. It's satire. The word looks very like saltire but actually means something quite different. As this week's Private Eye cover demonstrates.
It's American, so anything is possible:eek:
As for satire....didn't realise there was such a word in the American dictionary.

Tent going up just now on the green outside our hall for drinks and what not.

Fantastic to see that despite the yes / no views - our village community are taking the opportunity to bring everybody together.

Well if drink is involved I'd make sure they're all in bed before the result is declared. :sneaky:

I was speaking to some yes voters - encouraging them to the ballot to ensure they vote so they can't moan if they lose.

They told me how they never voted but were fed up of Torie rule. Given they've both had 2 minimum elections to vote in, you ask the question why not vote. Oh our vote doesn't count is what they said. My reply, by not voting you are ensuring it doesn't count.

People in Scotland. Just vote and continue to vote but don't whine if the vote goes against you if you dint vote at all. That's not democracy, that's ignorance

No but I've got an England top on :)

That's the thing with a small community - everybody knows everybody's business and once we've all voted people just carry on regardless and accept each other for who they are.

Yes - there will be banter but folk get on.
