An Independent Scotland?

Which is not allowed. Not even news paper headlines are in relationship to the Scotland vote are allowed to be broadcasted. Very strange rule I think.

You are correct …… my times are wrong by 12 hours …… starts at 10pm NOT 10am

Is this thread still going? The outcome was obvious months ago - check the bookies. So much hot air, and for what?

Sadly, speaking as a Southerner, this was always going to be a No. We'll now have a debate about what 'gifts' to offer Scotland which will rumble on for a while then be quietly forgotten. Why should Scotland receive more? It's like caving in to a petulant teenager.

And I can't help thinking that the Yes campaign may have been better served with someone, anyone, other than Salmond at the tiller.

"Gifts from the UK" - again the Politicians have not asked "the people" - they are great at taxing, spending and giving away other people's money ……. any idiot can do that ………

No wonder many UK MP's want to stay in the EU …… they are all feeding from the same trough

It will be really ironic if the discredited Euro strengthens against the £ sterling

As you say, you're a Southerner, so you don't really know what's going on up here. Unless you believe everything you see/hear in the media.
The bookies have been known to get things wrong.

Possibly. But I think I have a better handle on what a post-yes vote Scotland will be like than some of the Aye campaign leaders. All the important questions - unanswered. And that's why there will be a No vote.

Reactions: ST4
Betfair have already paid out to some punters who have backed a NO.

All the scots curently working for the UK security services will get laid off as suspect foreign nationals (apart from those retained to spy on iScotland of course), so they can go form a Scots Secret Service ;)

And quite a lot in our defence industry

No but that's irrelevant. I know a bad musical arrangement when I hear one. I also know that's it's application last night was akin to an entry into a boxing ring !
That's only your interpretation. I certainly didn't see it like that. Different if they'd played "eye of the tiger"

They are allowed to report "factual matters". Just not anything likely to affect the actual voting.

Very best of luck today ya tight buggers,..I'm well p***ed with yous all for trying to leave our family, tis like a brother leaving when the going gets tough! Flippin barstewards!

Best of luck to yous, go be independent and shove it to 'them'. (y)

....I fear the results will be tailored to the will of them, but ya never know, they might get b****r it up, or just lose the plot under shear work load, or maybe be just shoot down another plane while pointing out hollywood type abstractions.

And it is not the only thing I'm correct about :) :p

Which is not something that has happened at any stage during the campaign hence it is better for the broadcasters to be quiet.

I can't believe it takes johny foreigner like me to highlight your own rules to you all :p :)

I learn something new everyday.

Thanks to Phil and Robert for the links.

The news at lunch time still spent about half their time on the Referendum though!

Good luck today in Scotland, I am hoping for a yes. I've never been a supporter of nationalism, I believe its backward looking, but if this is what it takes to shake the political establishment and produce political and constitutional reform then so be it.

well a peace keeping force is urgently required on the days of the celtic/rangers games , and come to that most weekends down suachiehall street...

Apparently air strikes are on the cards against hordes of IS (Independent Scotland) Fundamentalists storming anything connected with the no thanks side. We'll know it's real when Kate Adie is doing the reports, avec blue helmet and flack Jacket (No comments about young Kate liking blue revolving helmets!)

You don't need separatism to bring about political change, just voters who do that, vote.

The system is too set, the power too firmly entrenched, it needs a major blow against those that hold the power. Scotland voting for independence could be the first step in that process.

My son voted today, he's an English student studying in Scotland, said he voted no, which surprised me a bit. His reasoning was, if were stuck with the tory bstrd's then so should they :)

That's our votes cast.

Wish I was a YES voter - they're showering everybody with goodies :)

I disagree. You vote, you choose. I was speaking to yes voters who say scotland doesn't get a say in UK politics. I asked them, have you voted before. No is the answer. They have only themselves to blame.

Apathy is the problem with low electoral turn outs. Not the system. The democracy we have is second to none.

Lie to them - its a secret ballot after all
