A vivid autumn day seemed like a good time to try out a roll of Ektar but it wasn't until I was loading the film into my Mamiya 330f last weekend that I realised that there was a problem with the film counter. Consequently, I only got six shots out of the roll - ouch!

Oh, well. I developed the film this afternoon in the Rollei Digibase that I mixed up in April and gave it my standard process:

Pre-soak: 3 mins
Dev: 4 minutes
Bleach: 3mins 30 secs
Wash
Fix: 5 minutes
Wash
Stabilise: 2 mins 30 secs
Everything was in a water bath that started at 38 deg C and finished up at about 36-37 deg C.

This is a very colourful film at the developing stage: the pre-wash water came out a very striking emerald green and the stabiliser was a brighter pink after it had done its stuff. The mask on the film is a quite strong pink so we'll have to see how that works with the scanning

The negs are drying now but I'll update asap with some scans.

How have others found home developed Ektar when it comes to scanning???

I'm looking forward to seeing the results, I've been thinking of souring some ektar...

wow stunning shots, i have never shot this film before but I have just got a box for my trip to Australia, hope the images are half as nice as these.

Ektar at it's best,it is a wonderful film and your first shot does it great justice. Congrats and well done lovely shot.

Yep, I'm a fan of Ektar as well and these just go to show why.

@abdoujaparov, @RichiePFlash, @medwaygreen, @Andysnap - thanks for your kind appreciation.

I was inspired to get the Ektar for a pinhole camera that my 15 year-old daughter is making for her GCSE 'Resistant Materials' coursework! We saw a guy on holiday who was using one of those lovely Zero Image pinhole cameras to photograph a waterfall and got chatting to him. He recommended Ektar for the saturation and said it generally did well with long exposures. The camera is due to be finished by the New Year so I'll post some photies from it when it's been put to use!

I have just ordered 3x rols of 35mm Ekhtar from Calumet as I have been looking to try out this for a while.
