Yes
Not really surprising giving her huge personal problems -she was obviously on a self destruct course she couldn't get off, but she was a refreshing real talent....bloody tragic!

Just seen it on Sky News. It seems the original emergency call was only at 4.30pm so it's as recent as it gets.

what a waste of a great talent, for all her drug use and problems, theres no denying she had a superb voice

Pretty much my thought.
I really hope her life is now used as a springboard to show kids how you can **** things up completely so easily.

Awesome voice Bodders -she was compared with the likes of Billie Holliday, which I don't think was any exaggeration at all. Add in the fact that she wrote her own material and she was a tremendous talent.

i feel for the family and i hope more kids see this as a mistake not to make rather than one to make

The problem is when drugs are glamorised in the media & by celebrities it detracts from the real harm they do.

I’m 45 & had no knowledge of drugs until I joined the RAF, when we were shown some truly horrific photos of the after effects of regular drug abuse.

In my opinion, kids as young as 11 or 12 should be shown the horrendous side of drugs. They mainly hear & read about all the fools who take it & still seem to enjoy their lives.

Amy was an amazing singer but she decided to take the wrong path & she has paid the ultimate price!

Her acoustic version of Valerie is a sublime piece of music. No matter what you may think about her lifestyle a 27 year old is dead...very sad for her friends and family.

I thought she was turning it around, she's not been in the red tops for ages, that usually means she's not been doing anything gutterworthy.

Its a shame that someone so gifted should die so young..:(

I can't really say I liked her music that much, but it's always sad when someone that young passes, regardless of whether or not they have as much obvious talent as she had... I hope it was quick and painless for her, and that something good comes of it...

My thoughts go to her friends and family that tried to help her with her substance abuse...

Very sad...

No matter who she was or what she did it is always sad to see someone pass away this young or at any age. Very sad indeed.

To be honest are we surprised, Saw her in 2004 at Manchester Academy and she was struggling even then due to either drink or drugs, you just can't keep that lifestyle up over the long term.

I cam certainly understand where you're coming from, but surely we've all made mistakes in the past. she just couldn't recover from her's. The press dogged her, her husband was a pri k, and everyone wanted a piece of her. She never stood a****ing chance god love her..xx

its plastered all over my friends facebook ‎but it annoys me because 80 odd innocent people killed in their prime im Norway, yet everyone seems more concerned about a self destructive junkie... this world has gone mad!

Yes you are right but I felt the same about my mother, I don't talk to her due to drugs and drink so if my own mother can't change my views I'm sure Amy can't.

Thank you my friend!

it ****es me off that within 5 mins of this breaking facebook statuses everywhere are all "RIP amy" etc.

compare that to statuses about the 91 dead in norway.. unfortunately people have more compassion for a drink and drug abusing celeb.

:|

There is a thread for the Norway incidents isn't there..

should we not talk about anything else...eh
