Been offered a brand new one from a mate who bought it in USA, apart from the charger are there any issues using it here?

ah I think it is....what are the implications of that? Its not 'locked' as it was bought straight from Apple.

My dad has just bought an ipad3 in Hawaii on a recent trip there and the only issue as you say has been the charging unit. He picked one up from amazon cheap enough but my iphone 4s charger actually charges it anyway (albeit really slowly) Should have no issues what so ever with it :)

Thanks guys, bought a couple off Amazon. Its a 4G 64 for £ 450 so can't complain at a minor inconvenience!

dont worry its the same , also covered by warranty in the uk too ,
