Anyone noticed a drop in the quality of service from Amazon.

A few weeks ago I ordered a book that was shown as in stock, but after 2 weeks and 2 emails regarding delays I cancelled it.

Yesterday I ordered some books (shown as in stock) and paid for delivery in one business day. When I checked my account this morning the delivery estimate it 1 Feb. - 21 Feb. That is poor service.

i have found that second party orders are not very good at times have had a fair few problems with them but Amazon them selves have been ok.

No problems with Amazon for me, although haven't ordered much for 2nd party suppliers from them.

I can't complain at all - great service when buying for Christmas and even this week: -

I ordered something on Prime on Thursday at 6pm and it arrived yesterday at 3pm

On another account, I ordered on Monday and using their super saver delivery it was still here Thursday!

Prime was a bit slow over Christmas (understandably) but otherwise they're **** hot as normal.

Was talking to someone who knows these things recently and apparently amazon/rm may have a few teething issues while shifting amazon traffic to the a different next day service from rm.

Quite happy to hear that they are shifting from RM. I complained about their service and they have given me free delivery. At least they have made an effort.

Excellent service as always for me

No problems here either, it does depend if it supplied by amazon direct or a supplier

I see on a hifi website that they are apparently going to stop the free delivery of CDs under £10, so that'll make quite a difference to folks who buy cheap CDs. My bugbear with Amazon is ordering 3 CDs and they all come separately from different depots, so not sure how the economics of that can work for packaging and delivery?

Orders for physical products from Amazon.co.uk with a total value above £10 qualify for FREE Super Saver Delivery. FREE Super Saver Delivery to the UK was available with no minimum spend on eligible orders that included Books, Music, Film & TV, Blu-ray, Software or PC & Video Games placed up to and including 6 January 2014. For specified European destinations, your order must be £25 or over (including VAT) to qualify for FREE Super Saver Delivery, and can include Marketplace items that are "Fulfilled by Amazon".

as you all may now, i am somewhat of an "awkward customer" who does not take crap service lightly.

Never have I once emailed anyone at amazon to tell them they are poor.

In fact the other day, I ordered with about a minute to go, for next day delivery (prime trial was a 2 month offer)... I seriously did not expect the book to turn up the next day.. got home from work and there it was on the doormat.

No issues with Amazon service, get e-mail update re dispatched etc - have found their free super saver delivery has (understandably) been a little slower than normal over the past month or so, but no issues as not in a hurry for the items by this postage method.

Well, the 'Super Saver Delivery' is free, so not much to complain about really, unless it doesn't turn up of course!
Having said that, it normaly arrives within 3 days of placing order, so pretty good in my book!
Only problem I ever had with a delivery from Amazon, was Yodel's incompetence, unable to find the right street!

I ordered a pair of walking boots on Sunday night from amazon, they arrived at 1500hrs today! Yes, I chose free 'Super Saver Delivery' Bloomin good by anyone's standards!

Was it definitely Amazon and not a markerplace seller?

Yep, definitely amazon. Delivery info showed it their own delivery service too! It was a plain white van so can't confirm that. Still impressive!

Bought a ring off amazon last week for over £100 as a late present, used prime for next day delivery it turned up 4 days later. Not even posted by a tracked method :(

Last year I bought a Nespresso coffee machine and paid for next day delivery. The following morning I received an email from amazon apologising that there was a delay in my order, refunded my postage and gave me a months free trial of prime. Half and hour later the machine arrived :)

Ordered the wife a Lenovo pad with next day delivery. Got an email confirming the item had been despatched a couple of hours later and early the following morning a text from the courier giving a one hour delivery slot. They hit that almost exactly in the middle.

Time from placing order to goods arriving - 12 hours 10 minutes.

Can't fault that :-)

Yesterday I ordered 3 books. All were to be supplied by Amazon and shown as In Stock ( no external supplier involved). I paid for next day delivery, but later got an email saying that not all could be supplied within the timescale, but they would deliver what was available next day. Guess what - today all 3 books were delivered. Great, but how was their delivery information incorrect.

I think generally they're still pretty good but the instances of not so good seem to be creeping up. I pre ordered a game off them, expecting it to arrive with me on the day of release. A week after release day still nothing and I had to contact them and start moaning.

Never had any problems with things *direct* from Amazon, it's always been when the item comes from marketplace. Mind you, I rarely use Next Day delivery.

If you have one nearby I thoroughly recommend their locker service if you can't be in for a delivery. Very convenient and usually a quick super-saver delivery.

Just had a look at that and discovered a suitable locker only 5 mins walk from my house. Could prove handy at times.

Just had my first bad experience of using amazon and I have been using it for years.

The Wife needed a book for her college work and she ordered it but being on a budget she bought it from some one selling on Amazon rather that direct from amazon. Surprise surprise the book didn't arrive by the date stated and after numerous mails to the seller we still didn't receive a response or the book, filed a complaint and 3 days after still nothing so I have today thankfully got a refund to an amazon gift card (would have had to wait even longer for a refund back to my bank) and bought the book direct from them, also advised the wife to only purchase if its direct from amazon in future.

I would normally have checked the sellers feedback but when I have looked at the sellers feedback they only seem to have existed on the site since Feb and now have all negative feedback.

Seller was Longbryan - in case anyone else comes across this seller.

Amazon have been brilliant for me, Same Day Delivery is a god send.

Ordered 4 items last Friday on first class. In the past they would probably have arrived on the Saturday. Still nothing.
