Yes
Ordered a pair of Bose Frames to replace mine that has worn out over the years; Package arrived yesterday and was signed for my my better half. got home in the evening and opened it - it was all sealed externally and noticed the Frames box was not sealed.. opened it and it was empty!

Beyond shocked - although I know this happens, not happened with Amazon (mostly it just never arrives, but this time arrived but tampered with..)

They're "investigating" and will get back to me on Dec 26 apparently.

Had it happen a few weeks back.. a £70 nvme drive.
I ordered one, three arrived. Except all the boxes were devoid of the drives.
Contacted Amazon and they just sent another. Didn’t seem bothered one of their staff had tealeafed over £200 worth of hardware, and probably a lot more

Might not be staff, could be anywhere, factory even. I’m a bit surprised they don’t have some system that would check the weight of items though.

They probably do, hence the three empty boxes replacing one full one. It must have happened at the packing stage at the warehouse. No other option. The package was sealed, so not the driver, why are there three boxes? They must have packed three for some reason.. the reason as above I suspect.

It's theft, though,not a scam.

I mention it only because I posted a thread for scam-reporting last Wednesday ..the original in HT ..and one response..the only one, suggested , that there was no point in it. I then saw this thread so soon after mine thinking that members do like to post about attempts at scamming them or worse they are caught by one.

WTF kind of an idiot steals from an Amazon Warehouse though?

There are lots of thefts that are bound to be discovered if people keep doing them. I remember there was a supermarket manager & fellow conspirators who operated a whole undeclared till in their supermarket for instance — bound to get caught, as they were!

Crazy isn’t it.

Hmm I was just so shocked tbh.. I don’t know why as I knew theft exists but still.. when it’s you it’s a shock!

It was quite a long time ago! But I expect more goes on than we realise.

When I was a student in the 1960s I did a vacation job as a security guard and one of the jobs was guarding newly made radiators of a “well known oil filled radiator” manufacturer. The business was booming and they were storing new product in an unfinished building with no exterior walls next to a railway line. I was supposed to count these thousands of radiators every few hours, a frankly impossible job by torchlight — which needless to say didn’t get done. A few years later a number of their senior staff were convicted for diverting large numbers of new stock away from the factory .

A smart one...they've probably worked out how to avoid being caught as eventually they would be as pointed out by sphexx. There are some unknowns here but if it was carried out at Amazon it would have to have been be done out of view of any cctv/security cameras,I assume Amazon have them. Also, if carried out at an Amazon packing/despatch warehouse there's the problem of getting stolen items out so it does beg the question whether it's been carried out at Amazon..another point highlighted by sphexx .

Maybe you could let us know the outcome using this thread.
