Bought a printer for a friend from Amazon and today got an email offering the usual range of accessories - inks paper etc including compatible 1290 colour ink cartridges at 1p each. Ordered 10 just for my mate and luckily checked the bill before clicking confirm.

£45.00 postage for items charged at 10p

Always check anything from Amazon as to what the carriage will be as their outside supplier seems to charge 4.50 per item not package!

rotters, not what i expect from such a well regarded company.

It's the "Amazon traders", not Amazon itself.

exactly as joe said. i know it's not amazon themselves, but it's their name on the line.

i use the 'buy it new and used' all the time as a hassle/paypal free version of ebay precisely because i was sick of this on ebay.

You thought you were buying 10 ink cartridges delivered to your door for £4.60 !!............:shake:

How's life in The Twighlight Zone treating you, Mal?

Seriously flash, it is the strangest thing that has happened to me on here:thinking:

Only thing that comes to mind is that prior to posting when I switched my laptop on it would not start, said it would attempt a repair, this was unsuccessful, only other option being to do a "restore", bottled out of doing that, switched it off and it started up normally after that:shrug:

It was also very sluggish after that for a while on all sites despite my BB speed being ok:thinking:

Now was that coincidental or are there gremlins at work somewhere:suspect:

:help:

I swear did not intentionally bump it, honestly Marcel I blame gremlins / glitches, or whatever, I was not searching:shrug:

This happens with batteries as well, they cost £0.01p a pack and the postage is about £4.50. To be honest the people falling for it probably deserve a wake up call :D

As a bit of support to the Amazon traders - Amazon used to fix the price of postage on a per item basis which varied depending on the category which for electrical items was £4.50 IIRC. All the suppliers charging 0.01 for batteries were doing were to ensure the customer didn't pay over the odds.

Amazon have now changed this and other suppliers can now set their own postage rates as the previous system confused and upset customers (as you can see from these posts) even though it was designed to protect us from the ebay type extortionate postage items

whatever happened to fangman...

I hate the fact that amazon advertise other sellers on their pages, was caught out once myself with this, rarely visit amazon now.
