last night I ordered a book on amazon , not having prime it offered me free postage if I took a months free trial , done this in the past and then cancelled prime as I dont use amazon a lot ..
this morning I got a e/m saying that prime was cancelled as the card was rejected . and a link to update it .. only trouble is when I checked on amazon the order is going through and then checked the credit card payment its gone through o.k .plus the e/m went to my junk folder .. ALARM BELLS ETC.

now what makes me suspicious is how the hell did they tag on to this so quickly . I very nearly followed up on it but thought to check first . leaves more questions than answers ???

i have had it when the payment method has been rejected for prime but prime still goes on you have a period of time to sort it out. that does sound right
go to the prime part of your amazon account and look

Had already done that it was a definite scam attempt

Have you followed up with Amazon on how this could happen?

A similar thing happened to me last week with Amazon, whereby I received an e-mail saying that my card had been declined. However I also received a text message from my credit card issuer asking me to confirm the payment from Amazon. So I checked the order summary on Amazon and it clearly stated that the card had been declined. There was information in both the e-mail and text message that only Amazon and my credit card issuer could know, so once I had confirmed the payment with my credit card, I refreshed the Amazon order and everything went through as normal.

Many of these scams are just blanket emails hoping to catch just a few. I had one supposedly from Microsoft about my 365 account. Apart from the fact I don't have 365 account.

I have one in my email inbox, supposedly telling me that my payment method has failed, despite the fact I haven't bought anything for months. They are just chancers, relying on the fact that some gullible people who are dependent on Amazon will be taken in.

Yep I had my son look at it and it was just a blanket e.Mail one .. pure co.incidence but a very close call .. my lad has now shown me how to I.d these .. anyway book should be here today
