I've just received my susbscribe and save Tassimo coffee pods from Amazon and it was packed in a brown paper bag!
Fair play to Amazon rather than an oversized box

The Morrisons shopping via Amazon also comes in large Brown paper bags.
I agree, definitely the way to go.

Our next Amazon Tassimo delivery is due in early October so I'll find out then.

It's an improvement, but didn't we read recently that there's a shortage of cardboard for making boxes?

I noticed the other day in Morrisons that they have replaced their plastic carrier bags with paper ones, fair play to them.

I’ve had some recent arguments with Amazon about their one style of cardboard box, the C1 IIRC that has the two tuck in sides (you can pull it open and then tuck it back in without any sign it’s been open), the second time I received one with stuff stolen from inside I lost my sense of humour a bit.

I have at least one order that I recall was in an Amazon paper bag.

Though it remains to be seen if they are sensible as to which type of outer they use for any particular item......??? Time will tell

Morrisons are very strange with packaging and their online delivery service.
Started out with sturdy White paper carrier bags, they were excellent.
Then it was White plastic carrier bags, not so good.
Now they claim they cant get bags so everything comes loose, right pain.
Gave up and just went up the shop for the bits we want from them. Bought the White paper carriers there for 20p that originally came free with the delivery.

Though nothing had gone missing I too have criticised their use of the C1 on a couple of occasions. I surmise in the test & focus group the C1 worked AOK under ideal handling conditions......but the speed at which the packers have to work does not help them ensure the package is well rolled and stuck down avoiding the 'risk of flap pulling'!

I've not heard that but it wouldn't surprise me.
The roofers doing my sisters house have had to stop because they can't obtain the materials.
I was over at hers yesterday when the roofers arrived and he was telling us that any potential customer coming back to him accepting his quote from a few months ago have to accept a price increase due to material prices rising.
His said normally there might be a couple of percent increase over a period of time but nothing like it is now.
He also told us about his brother who is a landscape gardener, he quoted a customer 3 months ago and they've only recently and they were told of the price increase and they said no but came back 2 days latter accepting the new price.
It's all getting a bit bizarre out there.

I also think if it’s used correctly (for books or DVDs) it’s likely to be harder to pull the flap out, putting a much smaller box inside (like Apple AirPods) means the whole box is loose around the product.

I'm sure I've had those with the tear off strip, perhaps they've changed them.

I agree, those fold up packets are crap, but luckily I've only lost a packet of dog worming tablets to them so far (spoke too soon here methinks).

A bonus today is that after nine months of delivery problems with Hermes either failing to deliver or being late 90% of the time, I've been promised that they will no longer use Hermes to deliver my packages. Whether this happens or not we'll have to wait and see . . .

Our Sainsbury's orders used to come in the single use bags (presumably to use up the unsold old stock) which we reuse until they die (2 uses if they're lucky!) but now come loose in stacking crates. Since we shop for 3 households, we have the unpacking and sorting down to a fine art - we can usually empty them as fast as they can get back and forth to the truck!

As for the Amazon C1 "boxes", all they need is a strip of tape (they seem to use the paper based tape these days) and the package is as secure as a box.

The actual seal is a tear off strip, it’s the two side flaps that are not stuck to anything.

I've had brown paper bags for normal stuff from Amazon as well.

Do they deliver hooch? :P

@Cobra

Bet you can't wait for your favourite delivery driver to have a Amazon paper bag for you ... :exit:

Had the brown paper bags a couple of times. Still got them because...you never know...

What’s the chances of getting a Conservative party brown paper bag from them?

:p

"She" had an Amazon collection to pick up, today.
I could have taken the return to the local "shop" just 5 mins walk. But no I wanted her to collect it.
So I could have a word
Me "did you deliver to me about a week ago"?
Her "yes"

Me Thanks for that, you left it in the pouring rain ( it really was hissing down that day)
You never rang the bell ( I was in so would have heard the bell) you just dropped it by the door and ran.
It was several hours after the apparent delivery, when I nipped out.
Had I not, it would have spent the night out.
And just because the car is on the drive, it doesn't mean I'm at home..

Her My bad was ruined?

Me yes of course it was, that's the 3rd one this year..
Again, not for the first time, I showed her where to leave anything if there is no answer,
About 3 steps from the front door, that's all it takes....

Did you manage to catch that on video so next time (pretty sure there'll be a next time...) you can prove she knows where to shove it.

Good plan but no, I was having enough trouble getting her to understand
So yes I too am sure there will be a next time..
