Ordered a new camera bag from amazon this morning.

Needed it by tomorrow, and after looking at the prices for delivery it was a difference of a few £ between guaranteed next day on saturday or same day between 6:30pm - 8:30pm.

So I thought what the hey, I wonder if it'll actually turn up today as Ive never ordered anything for same day delivery.

Placed the order at 11:55am or so, literally minutes before the cut off point for same day delivery. Looking at the tracking history, the parcel was handed over to the couriers by amazon at 3:36pm.

Parcel turned up at my front door at (I checked the time as I got up!) 4.39pm sent via city sprint.

An hour and 3 minutes from one of amazons warehouses to my doorstep.

Very impressed :thumbs:
 
That, I have to say, is bloody exceptional.

Always had really good service from Amazon and deliveries have always been within the timescale, or earlier.:thumbs:

Ive used amazon before, never had an issue with them, just sometimes their choice of courier.

I just thought I should share as todays experience went well beyond my expectations!

May be useful feedback for anyone else who needs to order something and have it delivered same day :)
 
just a reality check that whilst this was good service a year ago I ordered a camera package for the other half based on price and was happy to wait the month they quoted for delivery, they cancelled the order after a month and I would bet they never planned to sell at that price and I missed out on other sale offers at different shops so they are not always great.
but pleased you got your delivery
 
Have to say my experience of Amazon has always been top notch and I usually look at them for a great many things if buying new.

And their customer service is outstanding - only once did I complain after a 2Tb HDD gave problems after 10 months.

I couldn't find how to return goods on their website so posted a really annoyed comment in the comments section (of the HDD) on their site.

Within about 2 hrs I received an e-mail apologising about it and giving me directions on how to do it even to the extent of printing out 2 labels to put on my return package so I didn't have to pay a penny - and the money was credited to my a/c with a few days after that.

Now THAT's what I call REAL customer service!

Amazon are good, never had an issue with them having done 30 or so transactions over a few years. Just watch out for 3d party sellers and grey imports.
 
I paid extra for next day delivery before 9am once because I was going to be at home...it didn't arrive, but they promptly refunded all the postage and I still got it delivered the following day (it was the courier's fault anyway).

Never had a problem with them other than that minor hiccup. Their returns is a pleasure to use....though I think I may be blacklisted if I return any more stuff...

Though like above, I only buy from Amazon directly, not marketplace...they can be quite crap.
 
Only used Amazon for the first time a few months ago, but have used it several times since. Nearly always the cheapest by far and delivery is quick.
 
I dont want to tempt fate here but i have just ordered a S95 at a great price. Past experience has always been good.

Just make sure its proper Amazon and not marketplace

Amazon service is great even with returns, that is why I buy from them even if it costs more sometimes.
