Would welcome you opinions on this

I was searching amazon for the Nikon d7000 kit with 18-105 lens and saw there was a used item marked as "used - like new" at £464 incl. delivery

The seller has almost all positive comments and the negative ones I saw seemed to be a review of the product not the seller and one case of damaged in transit.

Is this too good to be true? Should I snap it up?

No shutter count for starters. It is considerably cheaper than the others so I would be rather wary of it tbh

I saw this too but my 600d still need a new owner so I couldn't go ahead there was another one there cheaper than that 435 there is an email account you can email them on it seems that sell babyliss hair product and they seem safer than the 435 seller didn't have any review was new to Amazon saw it last night

Looks a bit too good to be true! the storefront says babyliss isn't that a hair products brand. Someone could of had their amazon account hacked. Normally things on amazon are marked up i find. 5d mark 3 is £1222 crazy prices.

If you get "guarenteed protection" with amazon maybe worth a punt though don't expect to see your money for a number of months if it doesn't come off. Also the condition maybe suspect.

I ordered a D7000 from a seller on Amazon a while ago, paid etc. Then they cancelled my order. Detail grabbers?

Well emailed them to check. If I get a reply will let you know.

They do seem to primarily do babyliss products, with just a smattering of camera items. I wonder if it's ex-riot stock?

I saw one a few weeks ago - selling a nearly new D700 for £950 and 5D mk2 for £900. Emailed to check what they came with and suprisingly came all boxed with everything, but further contact via a hotmail account.

Unfortunately, with good equipment everyone knows the value of it so prices reflect this. If you didn't know the value, you wouldn't have it in the first place, that's what I think anyway.

Hmmm....got this response from someone called Omer Cohn

Hello,
the Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera with 18-105mm VR Lens Kit (16.2MP) 3 inch LCD is in new condition ( it just had to be listed as 'Used - Like New' as the box has been opened), comes with all manufacturer supplied accessories, 1 year full warranty. It has not been used. The price is £464.00 including delivery (2 - 3 days).
Return policy is full money back in 14 days. If you want to buy send me your full name and delivery address to have your order placed with Amazon.
Regards,

I'm not going to bite. Maybe I will regret not just going for this, but the last sentence bothers me. Why would he say that? If I found the thing on Amazon why would I send him my name and address via email? I would just order via amazon surely. It sounds a bit suss.

I was very tempted to buy from him on Amazon yesterday too. However, it did look too good to be true. A Canon 600D (Incl. 18-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS II Lens Kit) for £343! I was kicking myself for not just buying it because I gave my brother my 600D a few days ago and I could have replaced it for bargain price!.

However, it is very suspicious...that price is too good to be true. He had a couple other cameras like the 60D I was considering but at stupid cheap prices. He also was selling a 'used - like new' Iphone 5!, Imac's and everything that was used had no description at all of the condition or reason for sale.

Plus today there is nothing for sale in his shop. Yesterday he had 8 pages of items!

I got the below email 12:30ish last nigh...Personally I am glad I did not bite because it would have been out of greed that I get ripped off...

Pretty much exact word for word e-mail that I recieved. Think it was a good idea to avoid!

I had clicked on the "save for later" option on the amazon site and now it says that the item is no longer available from the seller I selected. Best used price on Amazon is currently more than new from panamoz

My curiosity got the better of me and I continued to email him to see what he has to say. His answers are good but I still feel something is wrong and I can't bring myself to risk it. I called Amazon and reported him. They said all communication with the seller should be done via Amazon which we are not doing.

My amazon messages is full. I can not receive messages on amazon , or i will receive them delayed. I did not list my items , amazon did , we do FBA sales , all out inventory is in amazon custody. I am not trying to convince you to buy , you buy only if you want. I need your name and adress to inform amazon who is my buyer. They will take care of your order if you decide to buy. The money are going to amazon , not me.

Hi

I do want to continue with the transaction but everything I have seen so far makes me think that it will be fraudulent.

Yesterday you had 8 pages of items for sale on the shop and now there is nothing.
You were advertising a 'used - like new' I phone 5 at bargain price which seems unrealistic.

We are not using Amazon for emailing which also makes me suspect something is wrong.
As a marketplace seller you are supposed to use the amazon email system and I believe it is part of the terms of service you agreed with Amazon.

Everything 'used' you were selling was 'Used - like new' yet you have not put on any description of the condition or reason for sale.

Andy why do you keep asking me for my name and address?

If you can explain the above I will be happy to continue the purchase with you?

My stock is about to end , that is why i am not listed on the amazon website. Let me know if you want to buy.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I cant see it advertised on your Amazon Absolutely Babyliss shop.

Why is it not on the on-line shop any more?

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

Are you still selling the 600D?

interesting about messaging through amazon, seeing as when I first looked at it, there was no obvious way of doing this but only a link saying to e-mail that omerltd@live.com

It was this that actually made me wonder to start with, trying to indicate you are a limited company but only with a Microsoft Live email address? sounds unlikely to me.

suppose I will start getting a load of spam now!

Omer Cohn? Seriously? Isn't that like signing yourself "Robin *******"?

Sweary filter caught that, but you know the name I mean
