Yes
I ordered a book/cd yesterday from Amazon.

I got the confirmation email from them to say order had been despatched by City Link couriers!! When I read that my heart sank!

You might recall my last experience with them. I was waiting for some important photography gear. They said they had tried to deliver but no one was at home and had left a card. Well there was someone at home that time and no card was left. When I rang to get it delivered again I let rip at them!

Anyone got any valium?!

Oh good Lord, I feel for you :( I've had a similar experience with them, twice!

They must be the absolutely worst courier firm there is!

oh.... unlucky. I feel for you,

I've got a dreaded feeling an order I'm waiting for (from elsewhere) might be with Sh**tyLink. I've been told it's been shipped but the courier was not mentioned.

I just don't want to imagine what could happen to a mountain bike frame left in their hands :(

It all depends on your branch/driver for your route. I have had a great service from them in the past and now its not so good. I have seen the old carded when no one was in trick a few times now!

No that honour falls to Lynx ;)

A lot depends on who your driver is for your area with any company, City Link here are superb, as are the other major couriers.

All couriers have plenty horror stories...I think the problem is that nobody moans about when they get it right!

No complaints (yet) from me...

As for DHL at Hams Hall :bang:

Even other companies belonging to the same parent group as Citylink (Rentokil-Initial plc) are loathed to use them. That speaks volumes. IIRC, it all went downhill when they brought Target and tried to integrate them into Citylink.

Bummer, on the flip side I've never had a problem with City Link. I've ordered around 100 items from amazon over the last few months and each one delivered next day. Mine all go through the Exeter Hub, might just be a better hub I guess

And to add insult to injury the local depot is in Wimbledon which only a few miles from Carshalton.

But with CityLink you would think their depot was in Outer Mongolia the speed it takes them!

I used to have a lot of problems with them but in the last couple of years the Bristol depot seems to get things delivered correctly and on time.

Well the parcel finally turned up at 5.10pm!!! I never realised Wimbledon was on the other side of the world!

When you look at the size of the parcel why didn't it come by Royal Mail and not shi**yLink?!

Has really pi**ed me off, could have gone out today.

Fed Ex are surely the absolutely worst outfit ever to call themselves couriers.
I will not purchase from retailers without checking that Fed Ex will not be involved.

City link are great here, whenever anything comes via them I can guarantee it's in my hands by 11am :)

My best FedEx story? £5k worth of stock shipped from France to Glasgow by air...ended up in Dover

Seems like evryone has a bad courier story.

I shudder when I order from Amazon and it's shipped via the Home Delivery Network.....

i have had problems with them too. i ordered some stuff, but as some of it was to be personalised they held everything together until the personalised bits were done so it could all be sent in the same box. but because of this i had to wait and didnt have a rough delivery date.
i then had to go up to my parents to look after their house from sunday to wednesday. when i returned home wednesday i found a parcel under my garden bench- my awaited delivery.
there was a card put through the door which stated "left in safe/secure place", thats it, no date or time, for all i know it could have been there since monday morning! completely open to weather/thieves etc. thank god the company that packed it had put everything inside a plastic bag inside the box.

but £70 worth of stuff shoved under my garden bench that anyone has access to didnt please me!

as i hadnt agreed for that to be my "safe place" they should have asked a neighbour to take it in or taken it back to the depot, my theory is hat the lazy delivery driver couldnt be bothered to carry it back up my garden steps to his van!

Yep they're are a total nightmare Clive
Amazon distribution depot circa 5 miles from where I live
city link depot circa 3 miles and they still completely screw things up here as well
:(

Royal Mail have lost a lot of customers because of the strikes, looks like Amazon is one of them
