Is is possible to make a purchase from amazon.de website using my amazon uk account ?

I don't want to risk attempting to sign in to the Amazon Germany website with my UK credentials in case that is flagged up as a fraud attempt and my card details are blocked etc.

(Amazon do not make it easy to make basic enquiries of that nature)

Interesting.....as I cannot find an item (other than from an Amazon merchant) it might be worth looking on the German (or other EU nation) site

Your Amazon credentials work worldwide with the exception of Amazon Japan (which I think is because it's actually a joint venture - there's something of that nature about the ownership at least). I've definitely used .de, .fr, .it, .es, .ca & .com - entirely painless (other than the shipping costs from outside Europe, inside are bearable)

Yes order as normal, I have done it a few times, its like ordering something as normal and just as fast if you have prime.

Cheers folks - very helpful.

100/% success buying on amazon.de. They have access to amazon.uk account details so almost everything is automated.

A week ago, on Amazon.uk, I bought a garden ornament (made by Skarat in Germany). Cost was £59. I liked it and wanted a another one but amazon.uk had no more. A short time ago I bought a 2nd one on amazon.de ............... £40 including carriage !

No hassle at all.

I'll be checking out amazon.de often.

Note ~ not looking yet on the PC logged in to my Amazon account, on my phone now.

I have found the item I seek on Amazon Germany and it seems it is supplied by Amazon but it is a third party merchant.

Now, in the same situation on the UK site I don't have an issue because Amazon handle any refunds & returns.

So my question is......if you have had to make a refund & return request, how was it handled and did Amazon (Germany?) provide paid return labels???

And is there the chance of any import duties to be paid on anything bought from Germany, whether from Amazon or elsewhere?

I made my original post after seeking advice from Amazon chat. My question to them was simple "Can I purchase from amazon.de using my amazon.uk login details" They had difficulty understanding that question and eventually told me that it was not possible and that I would need to create an amazon.de account"
As usual they sent a 'follow up' email confirming the Chat exchange:-
"I understand that you want to purchase from Amazon.de using your UK Amazon account.

If you want to purchase from Amazon.de website, you'll need to contact our partner site, Amazon.de, for more information about on how to purchase on their website, as our international websites operate independently".

I have replied to amazon.uk pointing out (politely) that their advice is incorrect.

Typically that is all factored in - you don't pay German VAT for example but you are charged UK VAT (amounted to approx 1% extra last time I did it) - if sold by Amazon DE it would appear the shipping happens internally within Amazon's network (but that is purely conjecture on my part, based on the shipping updates, labelling & packaging)
