Right, you may all think I am a moaning old git, an awkward customer, etc.....

Amazon.

End of Jan, bought a 12" tall plush talking Fireman Sam for Samuel.

Fireman Sam has suddenly stopped talking - replaced batteries and did all the usual things - to no avail.

Hmmm...

Via Amazon live chat, spoke to some chap called Rahul... within about a minute of me giving him the original order no, he had organised a free replacement to be sent out this morning to arrive tomorrow to work (no-one home tomorrow) and use the box and the labels enclosed to send the dead fireman Sam back.

Can't get better service than that!!!!

And yes, I did email the CEO--- to say "Thanks, Amazon is great, and mentioned Rahul."

Within 20 mins had a reply direct from CEO "from his iphone," to thank me for comments and he would also contact Rahul to say "well done"..

let their good customer service continue.

just dont expect the same from other retailers on amazon that amazon dont honour

Same as I had a few times, they don't always have the best price.

But from all the company's I've used and worked for I would say they are by far the best for customer service

On the few occasions that I've had problems with Amazon, their CS has been exemplary. Notably an entire order was resent when a few milk pods in one pack of Tassimo latté had leaked (a problem I've also had when buying from a supermarket) and a full refund was given when an order was sent to me twice.

I have to admit that I have found myself gravitating to Amazon for buying "hard to get hold of" items rather than eBay, especially where it's got to a point where it's easier, safer and even cheaper doing it that way. I truly cannot remember the last time I bought something on eBay.

I am more than happy to occasionally pay a little bit more and deal with either Amazon themselves or others that are "fulfilled by Amazon" but will not use other "marketplace" sellers on there.

Have had excellent customer service even after goods have failed outside the 30 days, with a return label and prompt refund.

Seriously though I can't fault amazon, even their standard returns process using the option on the order page is painless.

same here, I particularly like the way I've always had an email telling me my repayment is on its way while I'm walking back from dropping stuff for collection.

I've not had too many reasons to use their customer service thankfully, but on the two or three times I have, they've always been quick and trouble free replacements with me the following day.

Like Heather, I now tend to stick to "Amazon" or "Fulfilled by Amazon" as I've had issues with the "marketplace" sellers simply not shipping the items before.
Again, resolved quickly through amazon, but not much help when waiting for an item that doesn't arrive.

I've not had much issue with marketplace sellers. Their stuff invariably turns up but I always check the feedback first. Any sign of iffy behaviour and I won't use them.

Yeah I've always found their CS and readiness to replace items great. It's no wonder they can't afford to pay tax.
:)
But they can afford excellent customer service - they charge it to their suppliers

Yes they're excellent
The last two things I ordered were from market place suppliers they were secondhand satnavs
The first one went missing in the post the second did not work I got refunds without any problems

pity their own delivery side is terrible , their subsidiary that is, the whole thing needs shutting down

Amazon logistics? I've had lots of things via them. They're usually really quick and I get an email the day it will be delivered and it invariably is.

I phoned them on Christmas morning and was amazed ....pity it took so long for the replacement to arrive ....

I had Kindle issues several times, and each tine it was sorted quickly with no fuss and no arguments. So far I can't fault them.

I pay for Amazon prime with next day delivery and 95+ % of time it is delivered next day.Any late delivery I send an email to CS and always get a free month extension on my prime membership.

The price increase on amazon prime is another matter though.

Ah that's different though. Simply a choice of pay or don't pay, and whether it's worth it to you.
Certainly not a Cs issue I would say.

Amazon Logistics totally ignored a delivery to me and it wasn't until I contacted amazon the the van guy came back moaning like hell that it put another half hour on his delivery slots. If he had delivered as he was supposed to when in my area instead of driving right pass the end of the lane he would,t have had to come back. AS a first example of The Amazon logistics service well IT STINKS. Absolutely terrible either the driver or manager to me proved totally incapable of doing their job

I've had 9 items delivered this week from Amazon, they've all been delivered via royal mail or yodel. All in perfect condition and well ahead of the stated delivery promise date :D

Just wish I'd ordered the piece of polished black plexiglass from them too as I ordered that from another supplier a few days earlier and I'm still waiting :(

This plus Amazon Prime means I spend far more with them than I should. Really can't fault them in any way...

I think Amazon CS is awesome.

I recently ordered a small item that never got delivered. Amazon noticed and they organised a refund without me having to do a thing. That's proactive and not just reactive. Impressed.

Another Amazon supplier tried to stitch me up with an alternative, inferior product. Again, Amazon were superb in sorting out the mess. They said that Amazon would issue me a refund immediately and then take it up with the supplier. They followed through with their promise.

I have to say, I've found Ebay CS less effective. Can be awesome, can be crap. But, I have had less problems with Ebay sellers than with Amazon sellers in the first place.

...and don't forget if you are shopping there, clicking on the green skimlinks here to get to the site gives the forum hamster a penny or two of gogojuice too ;)

Another generally satisfied customer too btw, CS has always been excellent if there is a problem, you can understand why they are so popular.
