So my Kindle, purchased around Christmas, developed an issue with the screen. Not quite sure how, it was working when I put it in my pocket and not when I took it out but fair to assume something happened which may have been pure co-incidence or may have been my fault.

Anyway I called Amazon to ask how I could go about getting the screen repaired (well actually I was on their website, put in my number, and they called me back immediately). So I explained what happened, they basically said they would send me out a new one and I would have to send back the old one in a pre-paid envelope to them.

So this call was done late Thursday last week, new Kindle arrived Sat morning which was handy as I was flying to the US on Monday.

Now the cynics amongst you might say they make there money from you having the kindle, but you are just cynics and this service was top notch!

Amazon, I salute you!

When I compare this to my experience of having British Gas trying to repair our faulty boiler (we gave up after 6 visits and people constantly turning up with the wrong parts, that did not fix the issue anyway when the right ones did arrive :bonk:), Currys and LG taking around 3 months to replace our faulty TV and Parcel Farce delivering a package to the wrong address 5 times - the calls to them cost me more than the delivery charge!

So British Gas, Currys, LG and Parcel Farce bow to the legend of customer service that is Amazon!

\Incidentally I don't just go around breaking stuff :p
 
I am always amazed at Amazons customer service, it is pretty much top notch and one of the reasons they are my first port of call if looking for something on line.

Agree with you there, so far. Just having to return a SMP so fingers crossed the good service continues.
 
I've always had excellent service from Amazon, and their third party Marketplace sellers. I daresay some people do take advantage of their returns policy, but I'm sure this is factored into their business model, and the odd knock is outweighed by the additional turnover they derive from customers knowing they can buy with confidence.
 
Another Amazon fan here, first online transaction I used was with them (when it was books only :lol:) probably about 13yrs ago and have been faultless ever since.

I just done my first Amazon.com order last month for some car tools saving around 50% even with delivery,tax charges and was delivered in 7days :clap:
 
Amazon is always my first port of call,

it's not just the great customer service. It's also the non bias customer reviews and the speed of delivery even if you choose free super saver delivery.

To top it off Amazon are usually very competitive with their prices.
 
I have had a similar experience with my Kindle 3G. There seems to be a design fault as the corner of the screen frame on my first two developed a hair line crack. I have also seen similar cracks on display models in Currys! However Amazon replaced both of the faulty ones without any quibble and within 24 hours of my call. Excellent customer service and prompt resolution of any problem. The only thing which lets them down is the fact that they still rely on Royal Mail for delivery, in many instances, and they get let down by them. I would recommend Amazon to any one - competitive pricing, stock available, prompt delivery (usually) and excellent customer service. I have even had excellent service from Amazon Marketplace suppliers who otherwise get poor ratings on here!
 
Yeppers amazon are excellent. pretty much the best value as well.

Normally I would have agreed with everyone on this thread, however I am currently in dispute with them over an outstanding order that has not turned up and the sellers(Top Electricals) have not responded to any of my emails. I would not normally be so p...d off other the fact it is a fairly expensive item, namely a macbook:razz:
I would expect Amazon to intervene on my behalf and get in touch with the sellers. We will see how well they resolve this one!

I love Amazon - had nothing but positive dealings with them for years.

One of those rare companies that just gets it right.
 
They are indeed excellent and always had complete satisfaction apart from one aspect

That is when they try to get the customer to deal direct with the manufacturer, always say it will be easier, yes for them it is
 
I bought a house full of Sonos equipment from amazon and then the price dropped. If I'd waited 3 days I would have saved myself nearly £200 I sent an email saying how shocked I was at the price drop. And they refunded me the difference.

Amazon is also my 1st port of call.
 
I love amazon. I go there for the convenient and it is fantastic service. I bought an ink cartridge back in October, and it never arrived and I've told the seller and they've refunded me ASAP. I was very impressed. The same thing. I bought an item for my cousin, last September, but she already bought one by the time it arrived I wrote to the seller in about December they've accepted a refund if I return the product.

Amazon is fantastic :) always highly recommended by me.

Amazon is a US company and I wonder if this makes a difference? I've never been there, but most of my friends from the States seem to take good service and easy returns for granted. Must say, everything I've ordered from the US has arrived promptly and well packed. Huge economy and a lot of competition.
 
I often use Amazon simply because of the peace of mind I get from it.

Last year had a 1Tb HDD go wrong and returns didn't cost a penny as I was able to print out a return label to use on my parcel.

Money refunded into my A/C 3 days later.

Excellent Service!

yep , lots of peeps can learn from the Amazon way of Cust Experience. They are often rated #1 in CE surveys including net promotor scores etc etc....

Only thing that does concern me, is maybe they are too good and trusting, and people return damaged duplicates, though I am sure they have that factored in....
