If I want to buy a lens from Amazon.co.uk, can I return it if I did not like it?

Will they cover both sending and receiving postage costs?

I think you'll find that you can only return an item if you change you mind if it is unused. Although the item may be delivered free of charge, you will only have to pay for the return postage. Exceptions are if the item is faulty, or you return the item because it was delivered late - then they will pay the return postage. This is what I remember, so they may be other exceptions.

see this. You have a 7 day period in which you can return the goods (at your cost) I believe if you buy online by law.

Also read Amazon's return policy They will charge you for the cost of the return if it is not their mistake.

You should return it if something is wrong with it and not just because you do not like it.
If you want to test a lens borrow or rent one or just go to a shop like Jessops, Jacobs, etc.

Returning a lens after you used it only just because you did not choose well at the first place only increases the prices for other buyers in the future as the supplier will lose money selling it as used or, in the worst case scenario, your used lens will end up sold as new to another, unsuspecting buyer

I agree with this aswell, I am all for going to your local shop and trying out a lens and then buying off amazon because it was cheaper, Like me here in guernsey i go to jessops and can get it cheaper from amazon as jessops try to stich us up with handling charges.

I think a shop to carry a 5K plus lens and let you try it might be on the slim side, but if you where that serious about wanting to try out the differnce on those lens then you could hire them for a weekend and test all you want in real life situations
