Amazon black friday a rip off

well i have spotted something on amazon if you click a item that is due to be listed on a deal click it and it gives you a price when it comes on the actual time the price doest change but magically it says the price was xxx amount

is this a rip of way of getting people to buy thinking there getting a deal ???? and to clear old stock out

price is £26 before the black friday deal and there is no price saying it was xxx amount before so lets see listing starts in 3 mins

so this example back fired as it is now £16.99 but the one i saw earlier aa kit was listed before for £29.99 and now its £29.99

yep backfired on me i have seen 2 things on there now that has had no price reduction so they may not do it on anything

thats right but i watched it before and during the price deal both times thats why i put the thread up as the price did not change

If you look in the box on the right hand corner it says 100% claimed, this happened before to me, when you click to buy it has reverted to original price.
So you have to keep one eye on that box!

its mostly overpriced tat they cant normally sell anyway.

check the camel camel site for amazon price history, wouldnt surprise me if they raised the price before the sale.

Surely though if you are looking to buy you'll have already done your research? - its the price they are charging you that matters , its your decision to buy or not!

I have to say this year thoug the offers have been very uninspiring

Indeed.
I've dealt with Amazon quite a lot over the last few years. I've always found their customer service to be excellent, but if you contrast this with their record on taxes and the way they treat the workforce it doesn't paint a pretty picture.

I'm fast coming to the conclusion that I'd prefer to pay a couple of quid more to an independent dealer that shows better morals all round.

I've been keeping an eye on it after grabbing a few bargains last year. Bought a watch and some protein shakes for much cheaper than their real price.

Howeer a lot of their stuff during the sale is stuff nobody wants anyway.

Having worked in retail or allied trades for most of my life I can say such a being does not exist.

Well I've just had a look at a couple of deals. One was a protein powder I was interested in. Amazon wanted £24. Lowest price according to camelcamel was £21. It was on Black Friday for £19.

Picked up two things I was looking to buy anyway. Been researching for 2-3 weeks and couldn't decide wether to buy. Thankfully both things came up in the BF deals and were considerably cheaper than Amazons previous prices and cheaper than any other site.

hmm deal came online tonight at 7pm... Mrs S ready to purchase at 7pm... somehow the site froze and then sold out at 5 seconds past 7, and she was 268 in the queue... not convinced myself.
