Amateur newbie from Liverpool (nikon user). Hi!

I heard this was a friendly site with lots of users from the north. Not too friendly I hope - hate all those happy clappy sites!

Hoping to buy used kit, maybe get feedback on shots and to find out about meet-ups (I dont go out alone at night with camera - thought I was about to get mugged once and its kinda put me off)

2 other crappy slow lenses

decent wide 18-55 2.8
105mm 2.8 or 70-200 2.8 (undecided)

Not that I get all jazzed about kit but those lenses....

Yeah, sorry about the name Andy - first one that came to mind, inspired from a bitchy conversation!

Ive a lot to learn, esp hyperfocal focusing and er... how to grow a pair of balls (night photography is appealling being in a city but paranoid being out alone, couldnt even screw camera onto tripod last night - nerves shot to bits with thought of being robbed of precious kit and it was only 7.20pm!)
