... who finds this both sad and appalling?

Sad, because a 40 year old bloke has done something that in my opinion is something I would expect from a junevile.

Appalling, because he had his son with him at the time. OK a 40 year old could have a son of 20 years of age, but I suspect if that were the case, his some would not have been mentioned in the report - what a great example to set.

On the face of it, its a bit harsh... when you see far more dangerous people let off. It was a bit of fun, silly thing to do but was any harm really done?

Harm? Maybe not in the case of more dangerous things but hardly the kind of thing you should be doing with your son with you... Not what I call sensible parenting

Idiot, but I couldn't help a grin. The penalty seems harsh compared with what the courts around here hand down for offences that I consider far more serious though.

Personally I think 12 months in jail (rock breaking) would prevent him from being such an ass in future

I thought he got off lightly, what an idiot...I just can't imagine you can have a reasonable conversation with that guy...It's just a bit of laugh isn't it ;) Yeah right...

he is a complete moron. End of.

Whether his son was 2 or 20, he was/is still setting a bad example for him. My dad is still setting me a great example on how to live a honest life still whilst in my forties :(, one of many many important lessons I have learnt from him in my lifetime. I wonder what his particular upbringing was. I'm a firm believer in you can only learn to be a good man, from a good man...........
