Am I missing something - Aperture Mode D90

Am I being a complete idiot?

Had the D90 for a few months now using the it lens 18-105. Been using it on the auto modes mostly for pictures of our newborn & 4 year old, however decided to try and venture into the priority modes and experiment. When I am in A mode and turning the dial nothing is changing?

The front dial adjusts aperture in A mode, the rear dial does nothing. In S mode the front dial does nothing and the rear dial adjusts shutter speed. In manual they both operate.

Only if you have easy exposure comp set in the custom menu. Under normal circumstances it will have no effect as you have to press the EX comp button and rotate the rear dial.

You can reverse the dials, I use the rear dial for aperture control in A priority mode.

I have never set easy exposure comp on my D90, is it set as default?

Shouldn't be I don't think. Is the camera second hand? Maybe the last owner set it.

I had it new but I was a bit suspect that it was a display model at jessops as it never asked me to set time zone and date etc, It was a second one as the first d90 keeped freezing up so they replaced it, I did have a photographer friend that set it up for me maybe he did it:shrug:

Mate, I've worked with Fighter Pilots in the RAF who struggled to find the ignition switch

I have a Cannon and a Nikon, when swapping from one to tother takes me a few mins to get around the Cannon naming on the dial
