Yes
The other day my wife started calling out from kitchen she thought she'd seen a rat outside the window. My first thought wasn't to grab a broom or shovel, it was to grab the camera and to start thinking about the settings needed. Am I hooked ? Am I too far gone ?

Anyone else have experiences like this ? What would your first thought be of ?

the cats brought in a toad/frog from the pond next door! my wife screamed! - i just grabbed the camera. She wasn't impressed.

To get a pic of a rat? Yes, thats taking it too far

good lad post up the pics of the screaming histeric woman of something OUTSIDE  :D

Been there, done that

and I know it's a carp shot, I was told to put the ****ing camera down & get rid of the rat :bonk:

Perhaps a similar experience with me... a pigeon once was confused (or something, I dunno) and flew straight into my window and died (probably snapped his neck) :( Instead of grabbing a bin bag and a broom I grabbed my camera and took a few pictures. Probably more because I was shocked that a bird would do such a thing rather than hooked... but yeah

Betty, you'll be pleased to hear that I did actually manage to resist the temptation, but only on grounds of self preservation.

DS by the time I got there, it had run away and based on the description of size, was in no way a rat, and probably only a little field mouse..

Glad it's not just me :D Anyone else got any tales (or should that be tails ?) ?

Couple years ago when grandson was just toddling about was staying with daughter at time. She was painting bathroom heard a scream ran through there was wee fella covered head to toe in torquoise blue paint thankfully it was emulsion :) also grand daughter had got in the act too though not quite so bad quickly flung both in shower washed off paint no major lasting damge but remember thinking at time what a great picture that would have made.

Hmm I see these things all the time it just didn't occur to me to
take a camera to work...................
eg would this make a good picture? ( a true scene from a couple of days ago)
Derelict flat ( internals "totalled" by the last occupant)
dead rats in the middle of the floor ( I did that :D) rat droppings & flies everywhere
I doubt that it would win too many prizes though:D

Hmm now there's an idea
I could make a fortune selling pictures of number plates back to the owners

Chris, I think someone beat you to it I'm afraid...

or sell photos of the men in that alley back to them :D for thousands :D

I was driving down a country lane when I saw a kestrel about 20 feet above the road, slammed on the anchors grabbed the camera and jumped out leaving the door wide open and the engine running.
The wife called me a pratt and slipped into the drivers seat in time to move the car from the middle of the road just as another car came round the bend.
Me, I'm daft I am......

 You muppet

Haha. Was at work today, and some b****r had thrown a brick from a public footpath at a 12ft wide double glazed window. It's shattered like a car window in loads of little bits but stuck together...

First reaction was "wow, the way the light comes through that would make a really interesting picture.." Said to my boss if it was ok to take some photo's of it..his confused reaction "hmm, the insurance company do all that, don't worry."

I didn't attempt to explain..
