I'm sure some spokesperson from Woolworths mentioned around the time they were beginning to close their stores down that they would continue trading on-line. It is nice to know they haven't gone entirely, but it's a shame about the stores going under though.

I remember the Christmas adverts they used to have that lasted about 3 or 4 minutes back in the late 70s/early 80s. That must have cost them a fair bit.

I think that was the root cause of their problems in the latter years, we just browsed the store and never really bought anything substantial, everybody went online.....

The people that run most of the catalogues, like JD williams, Simply Be, viva la diva, marisotta, Kays I think, jamaco, etc home shopping direct they might be, bought the trading name Woolworths about 6 -10 months after they went bust.

I know poundstrecher up here has alot of woolies stock and a few other cheap shops too.
