am having a thicko moment......Photoshop

Hello,

I am trying to do something really simple in Photoshop but being a real thicko. Have done this before I am sure, but just having a meh moment!!!

What I want to achieve is text onto a transparent background.......

Have opened up a new file with white background and put in the text in size and format I wanted........

Just now sitting here with a glazed expression thinking D'oh!

When you create a new file shouldn't you do it with a transparent background?

Or, if you want to keep the file, you could create a new blank layer under the text and hide the background, voilá!
