Hi I'm thinking of having a 12 by 16 aluminium panel done by DSCL in lustre
I've not tried one before is it like just a normal print mounted onto a aluminium board?
I've already had a normal 12 by 16 print done by them to check and it was spot on so if I send the same file to them am I right in assuming that the print on aluminium will be ok as well?
Not seen one of these before but it looks like a smart idea so want to try one out:)
 
I had one done a couple of years ago and it turned out very well ... the aluminium is relatively thin and heavy so you need to make sure there is no chance it would fall on anyone as the corners could be quite lethal :)

Yes I bet being hit on the head by a corner if it fell off the wall would be a bit painful! !
I'm assuming that it comes with wall fixings the same as the acrylic block prints do
 
I've a couple of small ones, black and white dog photos, work really well. They come with decent bonded mounts in the rear.

I ike the idea of not having glass on top of the print
it's on offer at DSCL for the 12 by 16 size

Just checked, great price, hum got a couple of car shots...
 
Had one done a month or so ago, absolutely love the quality.
 
Out of curiosity, what is the longevity and does it need any special care or cleaning?

In the case of DSCL and Loxley, the metal is not printed but the image is printed mirrored onto transfer paper which is then transferred to the metal using a hot press. The ink sits below the special coating on the metal. It is extremely durable and a recomended product for tricky areas like bathrooms etc.

I have ordered the aluminium panel print it should arrive in the next couple of days :)
 
It's arrived looks amazing :):):)
The details that you can see is incredible can see small details that I didn't notice before
Was well packaged too :clap:
