The post in the 'Police follow this van', thread; that such a sign could be interpretted as an instruction, reminded me of alternative interpretations of a couple of (alleged) signs at a construction site.

One sign, next to a large bin said, "All refuse to be throw in here", I can imagine all would refuse.

The ground in one corner of the site was marked with a hatched pattern close to a sign that said, "Builders skip here".

When ever I see the sign "Wet Paint"
I'm very inclined to add "is that an instruction?"

And on the lawn, outside a drug rehabilitation centre
"Keep off the grass"

"In case of fire do not use lift" - What ever ?

" this door is alarmed" well comfort it then

There are many of these, there's even a long word in Linguistics to describe them. Can't for the life of me remember it though.

My personal favourite - "dogs must be carried on escalator."

Having put up thousands of those signs I'd be happy at that, we hated having of put up wet paint signs as its human nature to touch the damn stuff to see if its still wet, we were always painting over finger prints in fresh paint

"No Turning" .................. OK, in that case I'll just drive straight on.

What is it with "No turning" signs? How miserable a git are you if it annoys that a lost traveller wants to use your drive entrance to reverse in and then set off back the other way at no inconvenience to you whatsoever?

The only No Turning signs I've come across are by busy entrances in fairly constant use. People using them to turn around would cause congestion. What's wrong with just going to the next road and turn around there?

On the way into a pub, I often see "pull" written on the door.

Ok, I'll do my best...

As for your sig,
It could always have been an accidental discharge :D
Hearing a camera shutter noise in a public bathroom can never be for anything normal.

Heavy Plant Crossing. Wasted many an hour waiting for a giant Yucca to head across the road.
and me ,i'll have to take a pic of a turning in our town, half of it two way traffic and the bottom half one way traffic all in a couple of hundred mtrs ,the signs are rather confusing to say the least

Sign on the toilet door in the café at the summit of Snowdon - Use both sides of the paper.

It referred to recycling and reducing waste, but wasn't the place you would expect to see it.

Plenty of humongous private houses around here on quiet roads with these sign displayed at driveway entrances.....entrances which cannot even be seen from said residence.
