Alsjazzeras 2016 TP 52 WEEK 52 CELEBRATE/CELEBRATION ADDED

Two very strong shots - love the b&w on both of them. The eye contact with the little girl is great and I love the many lines in your urban shot to lead the eye around the image.

Thank you
Hi Allan,
Ancient - I missed the unedited version, but this works nicely. The small white cloud looks like it could have just popped out of the top of the tower.
Urban - The desaturated look suits the shot Allan, nicely symmetrical too. The dotted white lines lead you to the spiky thing at the end of the road(I zoomed in and still have no idea what it is).
Pair - Great shot there, as others have said you've captured the moment when the littleun was looking right at you.
The film grain seems to give it a timeless aura.

I also have no idea what the spiky thing is must have another look its somewhere I pass quite often

Nice Pair Allan, nice to see a film shot turned around so quick too, I'm liking the processing and the texture of the image, nice one :)

Thank you just happened to have about 6 shots left on the end of a film developed them the next day lucky really

Very nice shot for urban, I like the symmetry and the processing.

Great photo for pair too, great timing!

Liking the sharp/grainy. Real nice portrait of the little one with the added bonus of having mother looking on like that. (y)

Trying to work out how you lit that Allan, strong shadows in front but also good light on the front of the pegs. I'm guessing a bit of photoshoppery because of the crossing shadows but whatever you did you did it very well (y)

I did put a picture in on Sunday but hated it so took it down this is the replacement :pics:

sorry @sirch that comment means nothing now and people might think you are slightly crazy, I can only apologise :sorry:

@rpn it wasn't just you, my indecision :exit:

Hi Allan. Good play on words and I do like the dual textures of the cheese on wood. Lighting has picked out the features of that bit of cheese extremely well.

thanks Carl, the lighting was quite tricky

Hoy, Mister, where's your linky....I had to go looking for you in the main thread :bat:

Love this idea, just my kind or quirkiness, brilliant

Your big cheese is a great photo Allan! Nice textures of the cheese and the wood and very sharp.

WEEK 40 AFTER

flower by Allan Howe, on Flickr

After the rain, it has rained pretty much all day there was a break about 3ish for half an hour

This theme is certainly bringing out more than the usual amount of variety in takes. Like the interpretation - the water droplets suggest a grey dismal day which contrasts well with the bright colour of summer of the flowers.

Nicely done Allan, the water drops stand out well and make for a very good interpretation of the theme

Well spotted, the drops of water are very sharp, the background nicely blurred.

Looks very orange, now I know there's plenty of orange in there...:)

Nice and close, and nicely spotted.

Cheers.

Very nice Allan great capture

Ta very much

Hi Allan,
Big - Cleverly done. I like the processing, it give it an old faded tin type photo look (though would anyone have taken a shot of cheese back in those days?)
After - I like the take on the theme, the weather Saturday mid morning onwards was horrible so good job getting the shot and the water drop is great. Looks a little like the focus is out though.

Cheese has aways been a popular subject for photography :ty:

can only agree with the focus on AFTER :coat:

Nice idea and good use of dof to throw the background oof.

Thank you

That's a beauty Allan - wonderful colours and composition (y)

Thanks

Blimey! what plant is that - definitely looks Alien. Nice lighting.

As Carl says, that's well lit Allan, picking out the plant without spilling onto the background.
I'll echo the question of what is it? It looks like the remnants of a Christmas tree that's been taken over.

No idea quite a common hedgerow plant though, had to stack a series of about 20 images all lit with a flash to the right of the seed head

As said above no idea but its amazing how different everyday things can look with a macro lens

I can see an eye staring:eek:

:runaway:

Alien works very well. Excellent lighting make the seed head look rather creepy...

I appreciate the effort that went into it and the idea is good for the theme but TBH it looks a tad under exposed on my monitor (calibrated on Friday).
