Simple is very well done indeed, simple, elegant composition, very good lighting, great photo!
Nice choice for simple Allan, like the reflection in the spoon
stone - as others have said simple and effective
simple - I like the reflections in the spoon again simple and effective
Nice simple breakfast there, Allan, simply composed, good idea,
but you forgot the soldiers![]()
Lovely photo for simple. The POV and composition work very well.
Yup, simple indeed. Well composed...uber crit would be that the plate is slightly closer at the bottom...after 5 1/2 years of TP52....I notice these things
Nice conversion, wonderful textures and is that you I can see
Cheers.
Spot on Allan, great composition, textures on the wood and egg, reflection on the spoon, overall subtle lighting and a nice simple snack too, perfect
Super shot Allan ...I love itperfect for the theme.
ThanksReally like that Allan fits the theme perfectly great composition love the reflection in the spoon.
... for reasons mentioned above. Plus I like the way we see the entire rim of the eggcup. ... really like this one Allan.... for reasons mentioned above. Plus I like the way we see the entire rim of the eggcup.
It's been pointed out the the plate is not quite central in the frame, well what about having it as off-centre as the egg is on the plate? OK ignore that.
I like that Allan for all the reasons mentioned by Ian and Chris. I'm particularly taken with the subtle shading around the egg which gives it form.
Hi Allan
Simple is a cracker (boom, boom!) I really like that composition and your choice of POV. Really elegant and expertly shot & processed. Couldn't think of any way to improve it at all... top notch![]()
Nicely done Allan, works really well, as does the processing.
Am I the only one trying to see if there's a selfie in the spoon?
Both stone and simple very well executed compositions which certainly fit the theme.

Allan. Both nice photos, signs just right and the re shoot nice re take
Yes, I like both and both of course are well themed. My fave though is Horizontal for the composition but also the detail, colour and most of all the shadows.
Blimey, slow down, I can't keep up
Stone - like I said in my thread it's so much better than mine. Lovely shadow, nice placement and grounding shadow.
Simple is simply fab, lots of textures and a very clean and simple pic which I bet was the opposite to set up
Signs is perhaps the weakest of the 4. Maybe it needs to be in colour, maybe in portrait orientation. I don't know....... It looks like something out of Coronation street c1969
Horizontal is definitely laid backor is he stoned
That could be a twofer

Plenty of signs in the window, Allan, nice processing too.
Horizontal, I'd say more like "tits up" but what's a shoe horn or two between friends eh?

Plenty of signs there Allan love the processing great take on your reshoot made my chuckle.
Two good photos there, no shortage of signs with a nice mono conversion, the fly made me smile, well shot
that poor fly suffered for his art![]()
MaybeDon't you mean for your art?
Sign ... orientation/framing is fine but would like to be able to read more of the writing.
Horizontal ... real nice detail on that expansive GB. Humour too.
Signs; like the black & white treatment of the shot. Love the total darkness background of the room and the bang on centre position of the main subject.
Re-shoot; Great idea and nice shoehorn.![]()
Hi Allan
I like signs. It just feels rather calming to me for some reason. Well captured and although it's not particularly "of much", not all images have to be.
Horizontal - great detail and looks like the poor fly has been sipping too much beer from the pub above. Well taken.

Now that's classic @alsjazzera if ever there's an image that is!!
Love the lighting, the white background (slight vignette in the BL corner) and the addition of the glass jar is inspired. Also love the processing.
Top notch!![]()
I like that a lot - crisp clean bg with simple composition and lovely detail
