Alsjazzeras 2016 TP 52 WEEK 52 CELEBRATE/CELEBRATION ADDED

Danger - again bang on theme, like the B&W conversion and nice and sharp

Sorry its a lovely shot......though (but sadly)....I'm not getting "danger" from it either.

Danger(ous) - a great carving, and a nicely taken photo but I am not seeing anything dangerous there.

I explained it earlier on in the thread, there is nothing dangerous in the picture it's more implied

Thank you glad you got it, not many people have

Never mind

I love it, despite you not having put any effort into it. :P It's very eye-catching and the framing is great. All the lines, the bold headlines and the B&W make the picture really stand out. (y)

tis grim up north.

But Yeah I know what you mean ... topical.

I like the way you've caught a bit of both.

Indeed it is if it wasn't for the whippets and black pudding life would be unbearable
Thanks

Really like the composition and the mood that the b/w gives (y)

Thank you

Clever crop. I really like what you've done here.

I remember The leader, didn't it used to be called The Wrexham Leader?

Thanks Brian as for the leader I have no idea why they would produce a Wrexham edition it's not like they can read

Plain and simple, works very well IMO Allan

Hi, I like the crop; better headlines would take it up several levels IMO and I suspect after Cameron's 'win' in Europe there will be more topical ones over the coming week.

Cheers.

thanks, its a local paper for local people, so that is the best headline there will be, Camerons alleged win in Europe I suspect wont get a look in

I like the crop - would have been so easy to take one complete but two halves adds interest. Like the mix of textures especially that brickwork in the bg.

Seeing all my thoughts implemented is making me think I should have got started in this week's theme sooner. I too like the crop and the mono conversion, doesn't really matter what the headline is, newspaper billboards are always going to be topical.

Excellent. Fits the theme perfectly and the composition and processing is perfect.

Topical.
Love the composition and the BW editing.

Thanks Carl had to do something to add interest

Cracking idea Allan, love that you have 3/4 of 2 different boards, nice symmetry and the bricks frame them nicely with the B&W conversion, like this a lot (y)

Thank you

Looks effective Allan ...I like the stark black and white and the mix of the two boards....it was obviously headline news so spot on for the theme.

thanks susie, not the most exciting though

Topical - Fits the theme, I like the comp, it works really well with the B&W conversion

Hi Allan - I really like that composition and for a quick shot which it seems didn't excite you, I think you've delivered a good image. Sometimes you can surprise yourself with how a photo can work very well even when you don't pour the passion into it - case in point here, I think!

WEEK 9 THE LIVING WORLD

Oscar by Allan Howe, on Flickr

I make no apologies for this picture it's not what I was going to post, its from 2012, this is Oscar who sadly had to be put to sleep on Saturday morning,
I was supposed to be going to the 52 meet in the lakes this week but on Monday we noticed Oscar wasn't able to get up steps or jump up on the couch as he liked to do,
we took him to the vets and was given anti inflammatories and told to rest, took him back on Thursday as things had got no better, painkillers and stronger anti inflammatories
Friday late evening his back legs had stopped working, stayed up all night with him and rang the vets first thing, because it was a problem with his spine operating on him was risky and traumatic to him so we had to make a choice.

not really in the right frame of mind for this so forgive me if i am a bit slack this week with comments, i did take a pic for the theme on Friday afternoon wasn't that happy with it but it will do given the circumstances

Robin by Allan Howe, on Flickr

I'm so very sorry to hear about Oscar, Allan. It is heartbreaking to lose such a beloved member of the family - it sounds as though you made the right decision in very difficult circumstances. That is a really beautiful photo of him - one to treasure.
For what it's worth I think your robin is a great shot, too - one of the nicest I've seen of a very photographed bird. The background might not be natural, but they are so often seen close to people and houses, it's very fitting.

I'm sorry to hear about Oscar very sad indeed as Emma says it's heart breaking to lose a much loved member of your family.

That really is a lovely photo of Oscar and one I'm sure will remind you of all the happy memories.

Love the Robin shot too I like how he/she is right at the front of the photo

Aw! that's sad Allan - lovely photo of Oscar. I think the robin is excellent - I took one too but it pales against yours ... mine is a younger one I think - tummy not filled out as much. Lovely DoF and against an uncluttered white backdrop, looks almost as if it's set against snow.

My condolences too Allan, first time in ages I've popped in here and I now have a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat. Extremely similar circumstances to how our Dexter (the evil eyed cat) went a year or so back. Liver failure suspected, and was also very sudden.

He looks an awesome dog, and very much the canine equivalent of my imagined image of yourself. :)

Hi Allan,
How very sad. Oscar looks like a lovely little dog; so appealing. No doubt you will have many happy memories and photos to help you through this upsetting time.

I'm very sorry to hear about Oscar, my condolences, lovely looking dog and a very nice photo. The robin photo looks spot on, bags of detail, good depth of field against a neutral background

Sorry to hear about Oscar, Allan, a nice little memorial post
